"... And now for the weather. Today will be dominated by blustery winds and frequent hail showers. The top temperature will be 8C/46F..."

Too right! We've had two hail showers already this morning and it's managing a measly 5.7C/42F outside. Please spare a thought for my parents just five minutes up the road from me: they have been short on central heating and hot water since Saturday afternoon. Apparently the boiler needs 21 lbs of pressure to work, and they are down to 18 lbs so it's not working. They do have the gas fire working, but it's not the same is it? The Gas people are working on the problem, they've dug up the path outside the house but couldn't find the pipe! The should be back this morning to try and fix the problem.

I had such fun doing Ronee's Ad Challenge (http://www.oscraps.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=529) yesterday. DH enjoyed it too, giving me some tips :D He normally only sees the finished article so he was quite impressed by the full process of creating a LO from scratch.

Today I'm finally going to take the plunge and use my PayPal account in the Oscraps store :D Yes, really I am!! And then while my Christmas cards print I am going to work on the Give Thanks Challenge (http://www.oscraps.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=528)

You will be pleased to know I finally got in the shower this morning   There was some very careful shampooing of the hair... and do you know what I missed?? Shaking my head to get rid of excess water - I can't shake my head!!! To be honest even smiling is a bit of a chore, except virtually :D

Even with not being able to shake your head, I bet that shower felt fabulous. Keep on taking it easy, ya hear?
I'll be keeping your parents in my thoughts. And isn't it scary that the gas people can't find the gas line? Yikes!

I want to do the ad challenge. I started the Thankful challenge, but I am not happy with the way it is turning out. It could be that I am scrapping for 5 min, then running around for an hour, scrapping for 5 min, burning dinner, scrap for another 5..... you get the picture

Today, yup, off and running again. Hubby is having surgery on his foot. He has this bone growth on the top of his foot and it has to be shaved off. Being a diabetic, it is imporatnt that this gets taken care of properly. So kids are going to my neighbors before school- and we have to be off to the hospital by 7. Then I am working at my MIL's (she has me on for cleaning her oven today, aaahhhh! I deserve a raise!!) while he is in surgery.

So if you can send some good thoughts to both of us... :D

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good MOOORNing all!

Jane - I'm so glad you're feeling better! and yes I need to do some shopping at Oscraps too. thanks for reminding me! I hope they solve your parents heating problem.

Hey Chris - my daughter is diabetic too - so I hear you on the 'gets things taken care of properly'. Take good care of him! And yes!! you deserve a pay raise.

This morning I'm home. My work laptop is looking at me - I have 3 8 page staff eval's that have to be done by noon. ugh. (I tend to not do work at home - cuz I'd rather play with you guys!) But it has caught up to me today.

You girls are lucky I don't have a webcam today - lololol - serious bed head. Remember I got that perm? Well I tend to run my fingers thru my hair & now - it's ummm standing on end sticking in every direction mostly lololol It's pretty funny on the verge of scary!

Hey Tania, mi amiga - was fun chatting with you last night! Although twas way too late to be doing espanol.

And Anna - I recieved my little book of quotes on Joy! I ordered one to check it out - very nice - ty for the suggestion. Amazon has them girls.

Ok - it's 8 am I need to get those silly eval's done, then I can scrap!
Have a good day everyone!

ugh! Everyone please keep a child in your thoughts today -- my dh just headed out the door because a local school district had a report that a child was picked up by a red car (rather than getting on the bus). The mother didn't know who was driving the car. What a horrible thing and the child isn't at the school yet.

They're sending many squads over there...

*edited* child was found in the playground - someone gave them a ride to school (thanks for your positive thoughts though!)

oh God Connie... praying very hard!

Please let us know...

Jane - glad you are feeling better, warm prayers for your parents

Chris - prayers for your hubby and your oven cleaning - yeah, you need raise.

This morning I got the coolest email from a student doing a report on a small business owner. I answered all the questions to the best of my ability and got a very nice thank you email back from them. What an honor that was, guess I'm goofy :)

Oh no :(

Chris I hope the surgery goes well and your DH heals up nice and quick :) And I'd give you a raise, I bet you work hard :D

Connie I did some shopping!! I was merrily dropping things into my cart when I realised the total was a hefty $37! So I had to trim down because I'm not that rich, so I spent a respectable $14 instead, with some things to start me off on the next trip :D

No sign of the heating being fixed yet. Mum rang me just a couple of hours ago and said they were "jiggering" - so I guess they're taking up even more pavement!

Well, I think I'll spend some time this afternoon working on the Thankful challenge :)

Morning girls

Jane can't wait to see what you do with your OScraps purchases!

Vicki you are not goofy, you are just proud of what OScraps is becoming as well you should be.

Connie I'm so glad you ordered one of those books, I adore them. I have all but two and need to order those so my set can be completed.
For those of you who have NO IDEA what Connie and I are talking about... I blogged about these adorable little books that I use for scrap quotes a couple of weeks ago .. it's on my blog if your interested.

Keep us posted on the missing girl, that is so scary....always makes me have a sick sick feeling in my stomach.

Chris hope the surgery goes well today.

OK off to work now :D

update on the child... they were in the school playground. Someone that works at the nursing home had given them a ride. We are VERY rural -- but still things happen. I'm sure that she had good intentions in providing a ride, but... it was upsetting.

So all is well!

My dh said there were lights & sirens coming in from all directions. (He likes to do that...... he'll call me & say - I'm going 90 & I hear his siren...... The worst time was when he was working at night - and he called & said - I'm going 90+ with my lights off on a gravel road..... and I'm like - GET OFF THE phone & pay attn to what you're doing! Do you see that we are probably a good match? The reason he had his lights off was because he was chasing deer shiners..... on a moonlit night. )

My eval's are done. I have one more little project - an article on using ACDSee for the DST newsletter. Then I need to hit the shower.
Laters all :)

Connie, what does your dh do?

I am so glad they found the child. And that it was innocent. So scary-- we are semi-rural, and have had a few attempted abductions in my town over the last few years. *This* is why I won't let my kids walk to the bus stop alone. The world is nuts.

Glad those evals are done for you too.
