i am so so so so sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy!

I offered DH the EOS 350D for his birthday 2 years ago because he wanted it so much, and I love it as much as he does ;)
This is great, you're right you are lucky :)

You lucky lucky girl! :) I've gotten contributions to my digital camera fund for Christmas (and I'll hopefully be able to afford it soon), but man! To be given a swanky camera like that outright! Lucky lucky! :)

My father in law got that for me too!!!!!!!
I have a 17-85 lens, and *only* (ha ha!!) a 1 gig card.
You should have seen my face when I opened it. All I could do was hug the box. LOL!
Technically, it was labeled to me and dh, but when I hugged FIL and said thanks for *my* camera, he said back to me that I deserved it. I think he just doesn't want me to send hubby back home to them, ever. :D


Now I have to fugure out how the h*** to work it :P

Yay for us all!!!!!!!

Ha ha-- good question. The answer for me is not very often.
We had an EOS SLR -- used it tons, until I got my Digital Elph. When you are dragging two kids around, that last thing I wanted was one more thing to carry, so I would just stick my elph in my pocket and go. I also loved that I wouldn't spend $6-7 on pics and my son was making a goofy face in *every* one! Delete is my friend.

But then I ran into the issues of wanting to take pics of the kids when the elph couldn't keep up, speed wise or zoom wise. hence my lust for the DSLR! Now I feel like I have the best of both worlds, and I imagine I won't be taking many film photos at all.
