The Daily Ooooo^s - Thursday 30th November page 1

I should have worn a warm woolly jumper after all today, I'm frozen...

It's Thursday and that means it's Temptations On Thursday TOT time :D

What are you tempted to do today?

I'm tempted to go and snuggle up somewhere warm and read a good book! But, alas, I have Christmas presents to wrap that need sending overseas, so I'm going to be really good and say...

TOT #1 "I am tempted to wrap Christmas presents ready for sending overseas" and then when I get done today, I can polish that halo

And now that most of the obligation Christmas stuff like cards and letters are out of the way, it's time to try something new...

TOT #2 "I am tempted to try that shrink paper and make some keyrings."

Apparently you print on this paper, leaving a fair margin around your image when you cut it out. Then you stick it in the oven for a while, and it shrinks and goes hard. I think this could be fun!!!
Dumpty
11-30-2006, 02:05 AM
Oh yeah it's cool, my daughter made a present at school for my husband last year with this paper
I had to cook it because they didn't have an oven in class ;)

so now, what am I tempted to do ... mhhh
run to my car, jump into my pyjamas, and have a few hours sleep :D

but instead, I'm going to run to my car and go to the dentist's .... :?

ROTFLMAO!!!!!

We need a ROTF smilie :) Dumpty you win the prize today for making me practically spit my coffee all over my computer screen.

:D :D

Lots of luck at the dentist.

Good moo-rning My Fellow O's.

Again, I want to thank you all for your hugs and good thoughts. Yesterday bit the big one as I expected, but I got through. As I will until I can't any longer. (How is that for non-commital? *G* )

Jane, they make shrinky dink paper for the printer? Or can you use just regular shrinky dink paper? That is pretty cool either way. Have fun and stay warm.

Today I am planning on having some very much needed down time. I don't know if I said this before but my mom is coming up with old family pictures.
She is such the antithesis of me- she throws all of her pictures in boxes- they are all scattered and out of order and ....*shudders*
I am working on a heritage album for my dad, and a photo/music dvd for my FIL and best friend using these pics, as well as my own.
I told my mom to get some photo storage boxes, and we are going to spread them out and start to organize.
And just think of all of the scrapping I can do!!!!

SO my temptations for today
1.Take my credit card and drive to a day spa and get a wonderful massage for my aching back.
But since that is about as likely as Dumpty sleeping in her car for a few, my other temptations are:
1. Scan and scrap, scan and scrap, scrap and scan. You get the drift.... ;)
2. Ignore the rest of the house that didn't get cleaned (the entire upstairs) so I can scan and scrap!

Sounds like a plan right? LOL

Dumpty - the dentist .... I vote for sleeping too. :)

Chris - ((((((hugs)))))) I'm glad things seem a little brighter today. Have fun scrap scrap scrapping!! :)

Oooh dentist  Good luck Dumpty!

Chris, I bought inkjet shrink paper from a place over here especially for having a go, after I read about it at Hewlett Packard. I also bought some fabric paper too, intending to make some tree ornaments :D Ignore that cleaning and have a scrap :D

Krista how have you managed 600 posts when you've been here less time than me and I'm only just over 200??? I thought I talked a lot

Big congratulations Danielle :D :D :D Perhaps I should have gathered my courage and applied when I saw their call, but I'm too chicken

I can polish that halo!! With a little help from my Mum who went to the post office for me... All my overseas cards and presents went today!!! I'm bloomin' brilliant!! :D :D

Afternoon all!! Well it is poaring with rain, and blowing a gale here. Poor Sarah struggled to get into nursery  I shouldnt laugh but it was hilarious, every step she took the wind blew her back again. I literally nearly wet myself laughing at my poor child!

I should be cleaning up whilst Jamie is napping, but the weather kind of puts the dampner on it!!

My TOT is,

Beat the living crap out of the house fairy who still hasnt appeared after my wish yesterday.

Chill out in front of the tv with the biggest bar of chocolate watching the cheesiest chick flick and a mug of coffee that remains full, with the family magically dissapeared! But alas the MIL is appearing this afternoon, so I better look like the dutiful DIL who takes care of her son by being a house goddess!
Dumpty
11-30-2006, 06:53 AM
ooooh .... the MIL .... I think MIL's can be even worse than dentists ....
good luck !
(the dentist was OK here ;) painless, very handsome guy   ... )

So did you get me something fun, Jane? :) You really do have a big halo girl! I have bought one Christmas gift so far & it's enroute.

Hey girls - I outlasted Krista last night... and I SCRAPPED 3 pages with Vicki's new templates that go with her big news. I need to get them uploaded & then I'll share.

And I have MORE BIG NEWS!! Well, it's not reallly mine - but I am VERY happy about it because it will make the BIG O a better place!! And you will like her. (sitting on my fingers now....)

Yesterday at work I successfuly avoided writing perf. eval's by cleaning my office.... hahahaha - I never do that - but it was so tempting - I DID IT!! It doesn't even look like I work there! (When my director visited a week or so ago I hid a bunch of stuff in the storage room...) Anyway - today as tempting as it is to keep that project going - I better do some more eval's.

hello everyone - I'm sorry I don't have time to moo for each of you invidvidually - I need to go dig out my winter parka. But I love you all for making this place such a wonderful vibrant atmosphere!

Oh!! and the feedback from yesterday was that people have noticed. Two non-Oscraps people commented on it to me. So kudos to you girls!! You are rocking this house!

Hope you're feeling better today Heidi & your boys are well,

oh my. aren't you all chipper today.

i'm still asleep. i'm not really here.

we are having an ice day today - ugh - and my crazy dedicated hubby went into work before 6 am so that he could take the mail servers down and fix things because noone would be there. I hope and pray he makes it home safely today.

i'll be back later to moo with all of you after about 6 more cups of coffee...

Good Mooooooooorning, girlies!!!

As I sit here and type, the temperature is dropping, dropping, dropping...We may be seeing our two days of winter today and tomorrow!!

Dumpty, I checked out your BLOG and it was full of cool LOs!! (Thanks for the english translations!!) Very neat!

Congrats, Danielle!! Sound like a lot of fun...I'm sending some more of Jen's artistic fairy dust for you...

And Chris, I'm so glad you like to be organized...maybe some of your organizing Faery dust can rub off on me. I'm getting better. 10 years ago I wouldn't have cared, and now I do...that's progress, right? Have fun with all of those heritage pics (I love, love, love those!!)

Jane, keep polishing, love...you are wonderful!! (and I'd love that curry recipe if you have it. The weather here seems to be calling for fun dinners like that!)

Connie, spill! we want to know ALL big news!! (And we want to see your cool LOs!)

Krista, you always sound like you are having such a great time! Thanks for the inspiration...

Cat, (I actually like my MIL a lot. As a matter of fact, my mom and she are very close friends. Kinda crazy!!) have a great time with the couch, movie and CHOCOLATE!!!! You go, girl!! If she (your MIL) loves you, she'll join right in!!

Vicki, be careful! Enjoy a steaming cup (or 4 or 5) of coffee and sit back and relax with your laptop and scrap away, girlie!!

MY TOTs for today...

1. to go to the mall and buy a very cool Christmas party outfit
2. Skip all appointments and curl up with a bunch of movies
3. Let my kids go wild and not do school and party!!

But, alas, in order for me to be able to polish my halo along with Jane, I must do dishes, get the kids MOOving in school and take them to Aquatic Therapy, Dentist appointments, and gymnastics and our church music group tonight!

Enjoy your day today, all!!
Anna

ICE day here too........ LOL of course it is I live like 15 minutes from Vicki DUH. I am "working" from home but my Hubby (the UPS man) went to work and now has to drive the Brown Truck in this crap all day ... I don't usually feel sorry for him, but I do today.

I've gotta go get another Dr. Pepper and try to wake up more myself, will check back later...
cggibson
11-30-2006, 08:30 AM
Good morning!!!
I am not awake yet either. Stayed up way too late again last night. School was cancelled today due to the ice and the approaching storm. In our area, they are predicting 12-18 inches of snow!!!!
Hope everything clears up before Saturday...have a date with my hubby and daughter to see The Nutcracker Ballet! (One of DD's shared Christmas presents)! It starts at 2 p.m., hopefully the roads will be cleaned by then of the ice and snow!!
The visit to my birthday friend yesterday was great! We took him out to Applebee's for lunch and made his day by just being there!! Sometimes just the little things mean so much!!! KWIM?!
Today, hopefully the power will stay on...ice on the power lines
I'd hate to be without my computer much less heat!!!!
Today I would like to get myself organized....my desk is a mess and I can not work with it being unorganized around me. shrug
Spend time watching the snow...when it actually starts falling. Watch the tutorial on my Aperture software, do more designing, organizing....yada yada yada!
Danielle - CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Vicki dear - please keep your mind occupied and not worry about DH. He will make it home safely! Are you suppose to be getting snow too?
Jane - go polish your halo dear!!!
Dumpty - glad the dentist wasn't too bad! Go get your pj's on and go back to bed now!
Chris - oh have fun scrappy! I find it relaxing!
Krista - Wow 600 plus posts...you have been busy! You go girl!!!
Cat - I'd take the couch and chocolate route!
Connie - you are killing us...more news ... more waiting!!!!
:D
Hope everyone has a wonderful day today!!!!

Good Mooooooorning everyone!

Have fun with the shrinky dinks Jane!

I hope everything went fine at the dentist Dumpty, definently not fun

Good luck with the album Chris and I'm glad you got through yesterday

Krista, you really do need to crawl back in bed and sleep, from what I can figure you didn't even get 6 hours last night!

Congrats Danielle, sooooo exciting!

LMBO Cat!!!! If you beat the housecleaning fairy, it will never come!

Connie good luck with everything at work, and I can't believe you got 3 layouts done last night.

Enjoy your coffee Vicci, and prayers for your dh to make it back safe.

Sally, perhaps you could hire someone for a day to take over all your duties and curl up instead. THink the kids would be quiet about it and not tell on you :P ?

My TOT?

hand Marilyn over to a baby sitter so I can be efficient today, then scrap instead of being efficient. When dh comes home I'll tell him the reason why the house is still a mess is because I just couldn't let Marilyn out of my site and I was pulling her down from furniture all day (what I'll actually be doing today instead of scrapping)

No snow here today. DRAT. Just cold. It's 13 itty-bitty degrees as I type with my icy little digits. At least snow makes the cold seem cozier, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

Fell asleep in the big chair last night and dragged my sorry self up to bed about 10 p.m. So no scrapping. I'm still nursing the Big Ben (10 mos old, I KNOW, STOP ALREADY! I'm cutting him off at 1 yr!), and he's going through a growth spurt or trying to torture me. I am a milk machine. Feeling a strong craving for grass, so I guess I'm in the right place. Mooooooooo....

Anna, you're a Pepper, too? When we lived in Texas, I really didn't appreciate how freely my Magic Potion flowed. Not so in Iowa. I horde it like a crazy woman. But I only allow myself two Peppers a day (three if things get really hairy!)

That's great news, Danielle!!! CONGRATS!

Jane, I admire your organization!!!!! Woefully incapable of modeling your behavior, but I can still admire! :) And Shrinky-Dinks rock!

We should notify the EPA of Krista's status as an alternative fuel source. Forget oil. Forget ethanol. Forget nuclear. I'll have what she's having!

Connie, you are a roll! Can't wait to see what you've been creating, and always up for big announcements!

Cat, your poor house cleaning fairy. She shoulda known better than to mess with you! :)

Carla, SNOW DAY!!!! Aren't those great???? Enjoy the ballet, we're doing that next weekend. DH's auntie treats all the kids (including the grown ones) and then dinner. She's a real treat herself. Very generous and kind lady!

Erin, I'll be chasing babies, too. It's great exercise, right?

Sally, you busy lady! Enjoy running your errands with clear roads. You seem to be about the only one without the white fluffy stuff! Maybe you can find time to sneak to the mall for just a bit, huh???

Vicki? WAKE UP!!!! WAKE UP!!!!!! WAKE UP!!!!! And, yeah, the chipper factor *is* rather high this a.m.

Chris, I want to be you. I would love to be lost in a pile of heritage photos. Can't wait to see some! I ADORE them!

Have to go pry my baby off the sofa, now. He likes to teeth on our furniture. Not a cat person, but it looks like I am...

Happy day all!!!!!!!!!! :D

hey, I'm back.

Can't say I am feeling 100% but I am sitting up rather than lying in bed. It's not a good day when you tell your kid to go watch TV all day and he wakes you up for lunch because he is hungry. After lunch, I finally joined him in watching TV and watched Go Diego Go and Backyardigans.

The exciting thing here is my new laptop arrived. It's too cold to turn on yet so am patiently waiting for it to warm up. The bus stop was cold today. 5 degrees F but at least it has warmed up to a balmy 9 degrees. Could be worse, I could be living up North near my sis. It's barely above zero there.
I will take the cold over those nasty ice storms south of us though.

Have a good day!

LOL!! :) Ok ... tooo many people to address by name ... I only have a couple of minutes!

I'm a post hog!! LOL!! I admit it ... but if you want to know my secret ... well I post on EVERY SINGLE new layout in the gallery!! And I went through some of the individual member's galleries ... and designer showcase galleries!! :)

Cause well I'm forever searching for ideas ... I personally loooove it when people comment on a layout of mine ... hate it when i have a layout with 130+ views and NO comments :( That makes my heart hurt! So I comment on EVERYTHING!! :)

Ok ... Mya is starting to inform me that watching me type is not exciting ... lol .... and I want to do a quick gallery run!!

LOVE YOU ALL!!

I WANT SNOW!!!!!!!! I am 100% envious of all who have it now.

Yikes, I just place a $90 order full of calendars for the family through Shutterfly. I have been doing this tradition for my families for at least 4 or 5 years. The last few have been all digital. I have to say Shutterfly has had the easiest interface so far to get the month pictures and the personal dates into. Now I hope there aren't too many mistakes. sigh... I make 4 calendar versions. One for my side of the family with their dates & pics. Another set of pics and separate dates for: my fil & his wife, my mil & her husband and one for my sil's with the dates of both fil & mil. Now, it is one less thing to do on that holiday list.

The presents for christmas are starting to be dropped off. I do most of my holiday shopping online. The UPS guy is going to stop by our house twice today. You would think they would organize it better and only stop once. We are starting to joke with the kids that Santa just might be that driver of that big brown truck.

Hello Heidi! glad that you're feeling better!! And your new baby has arrived. She's going to go mia ladies when she starts setting it up... I have a feeling ---- sucked into new computer land.

Here are my lo's that I did last night. I need to update the info & make them right - but I knew Vicki needed them. So I popped them up. All are done with Vicki's papers & her new templates.

And if you look at them -- you may see my sister!!

Jane, thanks for the heads up re: fabric paper. I forgot that MIL gave me some a while back. M DD wrote a poem about a wolf, and I have some wolf pics we shot at the wolf preserve last spring. How cool will that be for a gift from her to her dad? Nice!

Connie-- templates just rock my world, your's too? And what is all of this big news stuff?????

Vicki, Cat, Connie, et al--be safe and stay warm. The wether is insame allover. I just saw how much snow and ice got dumped on the Midwest, and here we are in NJ in the 60's. I can't complain on my end-- I hate it colder than 45-50. But it is unusual. And seriously, be careful driving.

Carla-- what a *great* gift for DD, have fun!

Heidi, Jen, Erin, Anna and everyone else, glad you had good dyas. :)
