Moo-rning fellow Ooooo'ers, it's Monday, a back to work day for some so let's start the day off with a bit of brightness :)
Here, the sun is shining once again and my little weather station on my desk tells me it is 7.9C /46F outside. Today I am not planning on doing much: I was going to go out but I'm not in the mood. DH is home today too, keeping an eye on me :wink: Why do I need an eye keeping on me? Well, let me tell you a story...
It's 1.45pm on a lazy Sunday afternoon, DH has just made some mince pies and I was just coming through to surf around the boards. My heart decided this would be a good time to get into it's short-circuit mode, 220 beats per minute and so it's off to hospital for me.
2.00pm Lights and sirens to hospital. Tell the nice doctor it's happened before and explain that they need to use the one accessible vein I have, above my right knee. Fortunately this vein co-operates and within 10 minutes I'm having the drug that temporarily stops my heart so it can drop to a slower rhythm.
For the next four hours they just check me over because there's a possibility that I have an infeection, which triggered my heart problem. In the end, I see a consultant who already knows me (I'm getting a name for myself!) for another condition I have, who decides to try me on medication because this heart thing can't keep happening. I think my appointment in Manchester might get a rush on if I'm lucky :D
6.30pm Time to go home. It's pouring with rain and blowing a gale. I'm in the car, but not quite sat properly so I have a little wriggle to get comfortable while DH puts my wheelchair in the back, like I do any day I get in the car, but on this occasion...
... I fell head first out of the car onto the tarmac!
DH calls out for help, an ignorant taxi driver parked in front of our car who saw all this says, "Hang on a minute", DH shouts again and someone else runs for help.
Cue nurses, doctors, porters all running out to help, about six of them. Back into Emergency to get checked over, which takes another 3 hours. I had to have a head x-ray to make sure I'd not fractured my skull, and luckily, all I am is grazed and bruised.
So on this Moo-nday moo-rning this Moo is a little delicate :D We keep laughing about it: if this was a story in ER or our Holby City drama here, you'd never believe it, but I swear it happened :lol: :lol:
So Monday's can be a bit of a drag, but today let's take a moment and at least remember that we're alive, we're mostly healthy, and we're able to do what is set in front of us today :D
And let's give a big Hello to Erin, who's joined us in our Ooooo's - welcome, Erin, I hope you'll enjoy being with us :D
Well I've got some material for my Give Thanks LO (http://www.oscraps.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=528)that Ronee has told us about. And then there's Ronee's new Ad Challenge (http://www.oscraps.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=529) to get our teeth into as well.
Time to go shopping eh?

Does anyone watch The Class? Did you see the one where Lina gets out of the hospital in her wheelchair, and the guy (what is his name??) hands her his umbrella and the hurricane blows her away? For some reason, I kinda had this image in my head as I read Jane's story.

Monday morning ... blah .... I wish Monday's didn't have to come, but since I have no control over it I must learn to embrace it! OY!! What the heck is with that??? LOL!! I must be hitting a philosophical stage ... anyone know if I spelled that correct?? LOL!!
Not much planned today .. or nothing exciting anyways ... girls off to school .... cleaning ... working on tickets and programs for the dance studio's Christmas performance .... lunch .... naps for the little girls I hope .... scrappin' time, then it's off to the dance studio for the evening.
So ... everyone have a great day!! I'm off to update my bloggie ... to show off my shopping spree ;)

Today I need to get to work & clean up my office fastly before my director comes for annual perf. review. I left a disaster! ugh. But messy means busy right? We'll have a nice lunch - then I can relax.

Jane I hope that you are sincerely feeling better today! You had a very rough weekend and you need to rest! I haven't had much time to answer your question from last week about why I switched to a Mac. Well there were several reasons one being they are not as pron to viruses, the graphics are awesome and I was getting tired of my windows crashing and applications hanging. So, took the plunge, have had issues with the differences in the Windows and Mac. Spent most of the weekend trying to correct some mistakes I had made and learning the differences - yes there are major differences in the two operating systems!
Connie - do you ever sleep? I am trying to play catch up with all the posts and I am impressed by all you do for the digi communities! You are an awesome inspiration!! But I do wonder about your sleep patterns! LOL!!!
Anna - congratulations on your news! You are an awesome person and a great scrapper! You will go far!!!
Vicki - I can't wait to hear about the BIG NEWS!!!
I am sure that we all have lots to do this week. It's Thanksgiving for us in the U.S. and preparations are underway for the big celebration! My family spent yesterday putting up the Christmas tree. We love to have it up before Thanksgiving!

Anna, you know, I never even thought of frightening anyone with my story: I'm just so used to daft things happening I don't think of the effect on people reading it.
Let me assure everyone: I am really OK, just a bit bruised and sore. My heart problem is simply extra wiring that makes it go mad and race away and as far as I know is eminently treatable. I believe our Mr Blair had this exact same problem, except of course he didn't have to wait for the treatment :wink:
Carla, DH is chomping at the bit wanting to put the Christmas tree up because he wants to try out our new camera on it :lol: Seeing your post just now I said to him, "Carla's got her tree up before Thanksgiving. We could become American and get our tree now if you like, I read enough boards that are mostly American to qualify." I think he's almost tempted :wink: Thanks for the answer about Mac versus Windows - I like to have an understanding of these things. I hope you continue getting more used to it so you don't have so many niggles with the differences.
I couldn't stay in bed Connie, it hurt too much to lie down :lol: :lol: :lol: I've been busy this morning making alterations for a cross stitch photo-to-chart conversion I did for someone a while ago. DH and I have had a little session printing a couple of photographs and we're going to frame them later - I'll get him to take a photo when they're done.
And I can't possibly get excited in my current state... that would be just too much.. but I want to know what's going on too :D
I'll go off and do some plugging too :D

ok ladies - my office is 'clean' (if that's what it's called when you load up a book truck & stash it in the storage room!) I was worse than the fly lady -- I was the ummm fly lady on caffeine! After 45 min's my desk looks presentable..... like I don't do any work though.

Oh Jane! I know you say you are just fine, but I am sending you positive healing energy anyway. You take good care of yourself. I'm so glad your hubby is watching you closely. If I was nearby I would bring you some sweets. ;)
Today we are going to see Happy Feet! (http://www2.warnerbros.com/happyfeet/) We had the final b-day party for my son last night (b-days last about two weeks with such a big family) anyway he got some birthday cash and DH has the day off today so my little guy is taking us all to the movies! :) Thought we'd better get it in before we start potty training next week. And he's so cute when he sees the trailer, he starts dancing all over the place. So it should be a fun time.
I just have to finish up the previews for my new kit and it will be ready to go. I'll post a preview tomorrow kay? It's called Estella. Yup, I'm a big dork, I wonder if the librarian can figure out who it's named after? I'm super excited about it, it's totally my fave so far.
This is the first year that I was asked to actually bring something to Thanksgiving!! Well something important that is. Usually they tell me to bring soda or juice, lol. But this year, oh yeah, Ronee's in charge of the pies!!! Watch me go girlies. I'm making the crust and everything from scratch! And can you say Organic?!? It's gonna be soo good. (I have to keep up this positive attitude, so you don't start questioning why they would never let me bring anything before, lol, so if you have time in the next couple of days, I could use some good baking vibes, lol)

Hi girls! I was hoping to catch up with you all a bit earlier today.
But did you ever have a day where just about everything went wrong? (Jane! Don't answer that!)
It started this morning when I opened up a new set of disposable contacts lenses, and the one for my right eye was empty! It ended ( are was winding down) by my making a cheese sauce for the chicken-- whisk in the milk, drop the whisk, clean up floor and whisk, resume whisking, drop whisk again....
and I burned my tongue. :(
I am off to take Scott to Karate in a few minutes. I'm not minding that so much as I have the third in the Nora Roberts Circle trilogy. If I can just get comfy on the gym floor and tune all of the kiyas! being shouted by the karate kids.
Vicki, you are killing me here- the suspense!! And Anna, you too.... ya gotta give us a hint!

But did you ever have a day where just about everything went wrong? (Jane! Don't answer that!)
It started this morning when I opened up a new set of disposable contacts lenses, and the one for my right eye was empty! It ended ( are was winding down) by my making a cheese sauce for the chicken-- whisk in the milk, drop the whisk, clean up floor and whisk, resume whisking, drop whisk again....
and I burned my tongue. :(
I am off to take Scott to Karate in a few minutes. I'm not minding that so much as I have the third in the Nora Roberts Circle trilogy. If I can just get comfy on the gym floor and tune all of the kiyas! being shouted by the karate kids.

I have a computer while at my parent's house for the week, but no software... I don't know if I can make it! There is a scrapbook store down the street though, so I might have to try my hand at something paper.

Ack Erin, don't buy anything... come to my house on your way and take all my old paper scrapping stuff! The men around here have been purging so it's high time I started purging that stuff!
