Hands up all those who learnt something new yesterday... Yes, you there in the back, Jane is it? What did you learn yesterday?
Well, I learnt how to use the Batch Process in PSP 9. So instead of doing a resize on each individual fireworks photograph - all 55 of them - I did it once, saved it as a script and then ran it on the rest of the folder. All photographs magically resize and then move themselves to another folder. It really is a quite a powerful thing to have learnt. Credit goes to my DH who found he could do it - but he'd got it wrong and his photos went all sorts of weird shapes. I'd read about the Batch Process, but never put 2 and 2 together to make it work for me until now. What a time-save ti will be :D
I also learned a couple of other things, but they need tweaking before they will work properly. I've got to run that Batch Process again today as DH wants the photos resized again for sending by email.
Welcome to Crystal who now knows how to do The Moos :D
Since Saturday's X Factor when they had an Abba night my DH is suddenly their greatest fan. I've been treated to renditions of Voulez-Vous since last night complete with all the moves   It's a wonder supper actually managed to get to the table without first being splattered over the walls and floor!

Jane, hahahahaha!!! I love that visual. Thank you so much for making me laugh this early in the am (6:24, EST...zzzzzz)
And props to you on figuring out that batch process. I know PS has it, I just haven't had a chance to fugure it out. That program has so much "stuff" that even though I feel like I have learned an enormous amount, I still only know a teeny fraction of what is possible.
Welcome Crystal! And Moo to you!!
Thank you everyone for your sweet comments on my kids, they are just awesome and they make me very very proud. Crazily insane at times, but very proud.
Maggie, I hope you aren't pushing yourself too much, you have beenso sick you still need time to recuperate. And too funny about he snake. I am not to crazy about snakes either, but having a 10 yo old who has been fascinated with bugs, worms, snakes etc I have gotten over the worst of my fears. Over the summer, he found a wolf spider and decided he wanted to keep it as a "pet." No prob, says Mom. Just keep it on the front steps outside. One day it got chilly and he starts carrying it inside. Nuh uhhhh, back outside!
He still busts me on the time I was in the garden and thought I spied a baby snaked and screamed. Then I saw its little feet and realized it was a newt. Then I get all mushy-- awwww baby newt, how cute you are! Funny how 4 teeny feet can make a whole lotta difference in perspective
And Maggie, lots of good postive thoughts for your sis. ((((hugs)))
Girls, this acdsee sounds great. I think I have mentioned before that use PSE 3 Organizer, does it really work lots better thanthat? I amthinking about Xmas and perhaps some random family members would like to get me something like that, or an EHD.... I had been drooling over the Rebel Digital SLR.... but that can't happen this year.
Ok gotta run...another busy day in NJ for me.
If you are in the US, don't forget to VOTE!!!

ROFL--Abba!!! Jane, your story reminds me of the time my mom took my dad, my husband(who was my fiance at the time), and me to see Mama Mia!--that musical that is ALL Abba songs. She danced in the isles and sang along through the entire thing. It would have been embarrassing if there weren't a score of other middle-aged women doing the same thing. And then of course, she had to buy the soundtrack, and for weeks afterward danced around the house singing Abba songs (and badly, I might add). *sigh* And guess what the ringtone of her cell phone is. *sings* "If I had to do the same again, I would my friend, Fernando!" Ah, yes... Abba....
And yes, kudos for figuring out batch process. I'm with Faerywings--I have PS, and I know it has massive capabilities for awesomeness that I have yet to figure out. Someday... I want to try making my own actions. I *think* I know how to do it, I just haven't tried it yet. And I don't know exactly what I'd make an action for... LOL
Sorry I've missed so many Daily Moos lately, but we spent all weekend pretty sick, and yesterday I was playing catch-up with work because I'd taken so many short days last week. I think we are recovered now (I hope). And now I have to go and catch up on what everyone's been up to!
Anyways, I'm up super early(well, early for me, anyways) today because...I VOTED! :) Big election, girls--so I hope all the Americans here make it to the polls today! ;)

Oh no, Genevieve... that must make me middle-aged!!! I was 10 when Abba won Eurovision with Waterloo and most of their hits were when I was at boarding school - I'm old!!! Today I've been humming "Does Your Mother Know?" while folding the laundry - am I in trouble???
You could write an action to make a Christmas ornament Genevieve  I've written one (it's a script in PSP) that does an ornament apart from picking the colours. It is wicked to watch it appear in front of me as I keep clicking OK! That's the other thing I learnt yesterday that might just need some tweaking. Then I wrote another to make gold distressed lettering - it's so quick once you've done the original sequence, I love it :D
You should be proud of your kids Chris, they sound delightful, although I do wonder at keeping a wolf spider as a pet... But then I read a science ficiton story about wolf spiders and other spiders, who controlled the world and it was scary!!!
Remember I needed new batteries for my chair? Well, I didn't get around to calling until yesterday, because I have to know I'll be home all day for a few days so the repair man can call in. So I called yesterday... and he's here now outside changing the batteries! He had some on the van - I was expecting he would have to order them, but no, he's fitting them now! Tomorrow I'll be Moo-toring along

Jane, if you were 10 when they won Eurovision, then you're a good deal younger than my mom! ;) She would have been...(I hate math) 28 that year, I think. Don't feel bad about singing Abba songs. There are FAR worse things you could be singing (no offense to any country fans out there--LOL). ;)

Moooorning y'all!!
I'm so excited to be typing back on my laptop! Yea! So I can scrap again...and check out all of my favorite places...and e-mail everyone I need to e-mail...and...and...
I've been really bad this mooorning. I stayed in bed to finish a book and then check my e-mail. My dh is out of town, and the kiddos do a pretty good job of feeding themselves breakfast. Now to get them into their schoolwork! (I have been accused of homeschooling for the sole reason of not having to get up with the bus!!)
I think I'll just call that part of my WOW today (something great for myself!)
Chris, I'm with you on the four legs deal...anything slimy with legs is much better than those without!!
Jane, enjoy your tooling around with your new batteries!!
Genevieve, so sorry you were sick this weekend. My 6yo Emma (who is reading along as I type this) has a bad cold. We're waiting to see if she gets a fever along with all of the drainage. Maybe that was TMI! This is our sick season. My two middle ones usually get something this time of year, right around their birthdays. We're praying against that tho'!!
Well, off to be productive and get something done around here so I can go vote! Don't forget!! I'm so thankful to live in a country where we do have a voice and we can use it...
happy tooooosday!

Just a quick check in, I haven't Moo'd all week. Work is really hectic this week, always is the first 2 weeks of the month with financial reports etc. all due by the 15th and I've just been having to try and be very grown up in dealing with my assistant who is pretty much about to get FIRED grrrrrrr. Why oh why can't people just do their jobs effeciently and in a TIMELY manner  ooops sorry for the rant ladies, I like coming here because it's always cheery and here I've gone and ranted :?
Jane glad you'll be Moo-toring along again soon, always a surprise when a repairman shows up EARLIER than expected!
I guess Miss Vicki is living it up in LA right now, she had BETTER be Resting and Relaxing a little! ( Just in case she is checking the boards, thought I would remind her)
Genevieve "Applause" for you for voting today, I will be going after work. I always took my kids with me to vote, as it is never to early to instill the importance and privelage we have in the ability TO VOTE.
Ok it's back to the grind for me, thanks for the diversion girls!

Hi,
I'm checking in kinda quick too. Voted this morning, yup, washed the car, put on gas, yup, yup ...
ugh Anna - vent away - it's ok. (I just nicely reminded someone to do something that's routine, but she doesn't care to remember to do it). Yay Sally for finishing your book & your laptop news! Sorry that you were sick Gen - hope that you're feeling better! good job Jane with figuring that out. And you girls with ps - I'm in no rush to go there. I'm enjoying the learning curve in psp.
Want to hear what tickled my funnybone last night? I finished a lo - which you can find in the 'Love O Layout' thread & was going to make a final pass thru DST. I clicked on 'new threads' - and the first one was a page for me (link) (http://www.digishoptalk.com/boards/showthread.php?t=18375) ! RFLMBO - too funny even. But it did cause me to pause & ask myself... am I there too much? I put a link in if you want a laugh. On Sunday I had updated my siggy - so it was appro po.
Ok Anna - grrr - my person just came to me whining, asking why she had to do what I asked - and I said it's good customer service! (to send people a postcard reminding them of a computer class they signed up for). Kids these days!
Laters girls,
Question - do you see my clickable links? They're hard for me to see... maybe I need to change my skin color or something? thoughts on this?

Ok, y'all, I'm bad...
I have the time to read all of your comments above mine, but I'm in beautiful sunny and WARM california right now and I desperately want to get up to that rooftop pool and hang! There's no wireless up there so, I'll be taking my book. I promise I'll read it all when I get hot up there and come back to the AC lol...

Happy Moosday Everyone:
Thank you everyone for your kindness, I rally nee to take it easy but I had pent up anger needed to get out of my system.
From my job it's Chinese fire drill and everything is an Emergency.
Jane your DH sounds quite lovely and a swell guy.
I would luv a tut on the batch processing for PSP.
Chris you have such wonderful kids...
Genevieve I hope you get better, i found 100% pure cranberry to help a lot with the pneumonia but it does give me hearburn :(
Have a great day everyone,
Maggie

YAY Jane! New batteries - you'll leave your parents in the dust now ;)
Connie & Gen - good for y'all for voting! I don't get to this year. I didn't consider the timing and didn't get an absentee ballot in time... ah well.
Anna - I am totally relaxing!!!!!! I've had a wonderful day thus far. I walked down to La Salsa for lunch - oh yum, yum, yummy they make good fajitas there! The LA public library is right next to my hotel with a lovely park next to it. I sat outside the library watching the world go by, enjoying the sunshine. I then sat by the pool reading my book for a couple of hours. My hubby is now back from the conferrence and we're resting before the big "welcome party" this evening.
It's so strange. I brought all sorts of things to work on, but I haven't really felt like being on the computer at all today. That is so unlike me... but, I guess I really am on vacation! aaaaaaaah...

Hi everyone!
Just checking in, I've missed a few moos, lol. I've felt a bit like a walking zombie the last few days. Hubby's on swing shift this week and last week, so I end up staying up all night waiting for him to get home so that we can hang out, and then still getting up with my son in the morning. Ronee doesn't do well on little sleep. Ronee begins to do things like speak in third person when she doesn't get enough sleep, lol.
Jane, that's an awesome thing to know. I hadn't ever thought to look at that, but I'll bet that would make re-saving and re-naming my designs when they are complete a lot easier. I'm gonna check it out!
Chris, love the new avatar girl! Awesome, did you draw that?
Glad you're feeling better Genevieve!
Vicki - Have lot's of fun on Vacation! A little time away from the puter won't hurt, lol.
