So it's Bonfire Night, and fireworks time. The 5th November is our biggest Autum festival, if you can call it that. It's an odd celebration of Guy Fawkes and his plot to blow up The Houses of Parliament in 1605 (http://www.bonefire.org/guy/) DH took some photos of the family Bonfire Party he went ot last night, so I'll try and sort some out to show you over this next week. No doubt I'll try and squeeze them into Ronee's Ad Challenge for this week

Vicki's on a mission this week to WOW us all :D I think it's a great idea, so I'll be popping along to join in the fun, so come and join us. You can find the thread here (http://www.oscraps.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=425) to see what we're all up to :) It's always a good time to make ourselves feel better, and more fun when you can share it with people.

We're on a laundry and TV watching day today: we have The X Factor from last night to watch, along with Robin Hood, and tonight there's a new Touch Of Frost drama on, so I'll be quite happy. And DH has promised a lovely curry for supper :P

Oh Jane! I positively adore curry! Having grown up Scandinavian - my palate is pretty bland - but it does like to be woke up periodically with curry! YUMMO (as Racheal Ray says!!). Sounds like you & your dh were busy yesterday, Jane

Whew - you guys are SOOOOOOOOO lucky that Jane posted today because I was going to sing if it was another quiet day here. And when I sing my DH turns the radio OFF in the car - so you know what that means.

I've started thinking about holiday baking... I need to schedule the lefse baking (it's a 2 day project with them tators). Am thinking of inviting my dtr's boyfriend's mother to help - that would be a good bonding time. My family loves to help too. I'll have to show you photos.

Yesterday I got so much digi-stuff done - it was amazing! (sat on my butt all day - so I didn't wow anyone - not even myself) - but I was deleting stuff. UH huh! freeing up a lil hard drive space. And then last night it was so QUIET here I read a couple of newsletters & started shopping. uh HUH!

Look at what I found (I'm not really into projects - but these are so STINKIN' cute!) Can't you just see this done up with maribou as a busy book for church? They also have a heart shape & a house shape & are under $10.

Jane-- can't wait to seee those pics. And I just "signed up" at the Wow thrtead too.

Connie, you are sooooo funny girl! Poor you just wanted to talk to someone yesterday?
BTW, who is your sister? I think I need to harass, I mean go chat withher.

Vicki, doesn't a good night sleep do wonders? At least that is what I remember....

I was really busy last week, so I had made a pact with myself to only do major house work til noon yesterday. So I cleaned my house like a maniac! But yay, it is clean. Floors mopped, showers and toilets are scrubbed, everything dusted and smelling like lemon oil... ahhhh!
Hubby and I watched the HBO documentary, Hacking Democracy. Scary Stuff. And I sorted coupons, folded laundry all while relaxing by the tv.

I also did a LO for Carla's kit A Walk in Nature. Such a gorgeous kit!

Today, I have a few small projects and hope to get some more scrapping time in as well.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

ohh Jane! a velvet suit - sounds beautiful! What colour?

Chris - I need to get going on some cleaning today. Yesterday I was minimizing in my digi-life, but today maybe requires some physical exertion.. (Vicki will be proud). Maybe start with the treadmill, then a bit of house work, and hit the shower before lunch. And maybe I was feeling a tad lonely here. I have an idea though - I'll start a thread on it.

Well, I updated my siggy at DST. I'll have to do mine here too. Ronee has asked me to be on her CT!! I gave her enough time to reconsider - but she still thinks it's ok ...

And my sister - yes - she's here ... we need a 'Connie's sis' sticky trap' - she moves kind of fast. I know! I can do a layout so you can see what she looks like. Here's her comment (click) (http://www.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=1355&cat=500&ppuser=292) - isn't it too sweet? She does come out & play when we talk about her enough...

Later girls,
Anna

Good Moooorning girls

Today is going to be a busy day catching up on laundry, cleaning, groceries and all that other necessary stuff. I don't suppose Jane could send her Husband to the states for a day to help so I guess it will be on me to get it all done :D

I spent all of yesterday just playing, which is why I have so much to do today. Rylie and I spent some quality girl time yesterday, we needed a break from the boys. We hit all of our favorite shops in town, new shoes for Rylie, pants and a very cool new sweater for me. Then we had lunch and finished the day at our very favorite little shop that has just everything in the world and we always find unique stuff there. In fact some of my favorite books of quotes I first found there. I blogged about these books yesterday, so If ya like quote books check it out.

Vicki that Christmas kit is gorgeous, I really HAVE to get in the holiday spirit so I can scrap Holiday stuff........your kit is helping

Jane your curry dinner and tv night sounds very relaxing, hope you enjoy it.
Vicki I'm off to check out the WOW thing......

I just popped in to say hi before I shower and head out the door. I'll try to get back in here and respond to you all later tonight!

The curry was gorgeous, England still lost, The X Factor result was a travesty, Robin Hood was a hoot, and I've still got Touch of Frost to go watch :D

I was going to show you a picture of me in my velvet suit and some firework pictures we have taken, but my uploading doesn't seem to want to work for me, so I'll try tomorrow.

Connie, what's lefse baking? As you all know, I don't do cooking any more, but I did once make some marvellous mince pies for Christmas.

Chris I am so glad your house is now clean   Now you can relax - I can almost smell that lemon oil here!

Anna, you sound like you've had a great weekend, and I would happily lend you my husband, but then who would cater for my every whim???

OK, it's back to the TV I go now, for my last session before bed. Enjoy the rest of Sunday and see you bright and early tomorrow :D

Happy Mooooday, y'all!!

I'm so sad because my power supply jack on my laptop is on the fritz. I thought it was a short in the actual power supply. But after buying a new power supply on ebay, and getting it in the mail, I found out that it was the actual jack (something relatively hidden and probably impossible to fix!!) ACK!!

So I'm playing on my DH's laptop, but of course, there are no very cool digi-kits on this computer! So no digi-scrapping for a few days! yuck!!

Also, Sweet Gen, if you read this, could you PM me the link to the CT forum? Thanks!!

Enough whining here!! I am remembering all of my many blessings so I don't wallow in self-pity!

Do we need to start swapping recipes for fun dinners like Jane's hubby's curry? I love curry! and your evening sounded heavenly, Jane.

Tonight, I'm off with the fam to celebrate my sil's b-day. should be fun! I'll be continuing on with my fun Tae-bo tomorrow morning and I've got a glass of water next to me! Now, I just have to make sure to do the dishes before I go to bed tonight...

OMG! I totally have to get these! I have 4 little girls these would be perfect for this year! Oh, man, I don't know if I could get them done in time...

So, I watched Click last night - Adam Sandler's newish movie. Boy, was that a great reminder for me!!!!!!! I need to ask for that for Christmas and watch it when I spend too much time on the puter!

Anna~ I wanna go to that store! Where is it?

Connie~ I like a man in uniform too... but I didn't marry one. I don't think I'm strong enough to hold up to everything most uniforms mean...

Jane~ mmmmm, Curry! Can't wait to see pics!

Faery~ I had almost forgotten what a good nights sleep was too!

Ok, I've got a million things to do before I leave for LA tomorrow... I'll check back in later!

Those chunky books come in a few shapes - they're just too cute! I've asked to do them at our card club. Here's the link:
http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=165_173

I haven't ordered any - but I agree Vicki - very cute! And they're reasonably priced.

Anna - I found those books at Amazon. May have to check them out! I love quotes.

Jane - lefse is the Scandinavian version of tortillas - except potatoes are the majority (riced) and flour is mixed in, then they're rolled thin & fried on a griddle. It's a lot of work - but a must for the holidays. I have a LO I should upload (one of my first) showing a lefse making day.

I had the most amazing experience this aft when I went out to feed the dogs. The geese were gathering - and 'talking about the plan to go south'. It was a noisy cacophony. I ran in & grabbed the camera - and took a bunch of photos. Will share when I get them scrapped. I think they'll go with Carla's new kit.

Oh - and I just did some shopping... I am going to go play then come back & show ya'll.

Updating my blog in a few on a couple of other goodies I picked up this weekend.

Ok - I spend $4 and had a good time! This action is going to be fun. Wanna see? But I need advice - where should I put the journaling (I am capable of text on a path now) on this. And check out this photo - I did this in psp! Every weekend I try to learn something new. Also, does anyone know how to get that ghost out of there? I may have to ask over at DST on that).

I am still trying to get my head around being a designer... gotta work on blinkies, CT calls (any takers?) and the lot.

Connie.. those books are realllly cute! Are they downloadable templates or real life stuff?

I need to clean my room.. am having trouble finding my keyboard and mouse.LOL. that says it all.

OMG I just went and spent like $35 on magazines! Looove magazines! Would love to be able to get Domino... looks like a cool mag, they don;t sell in Aussie land.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! That is SO COOL Connie!!!!! I would do the journalling on a path around the left edge of the bottom paper working my way up and around.

To get rid of the ghost - um, select it with one of the lasso tools and hit delete maybe? How did you do the sillouette? I would do that again and just 'inverse' the selection and hit delete.

Anna~ SWEET! I am totally looking forward to it!

Hey Nancy -
umm yeah - those bulky books are not digital - so that means shipping... WHAT! shipping? and order something that's not a virtual product? Omg - I know it's very shocking. (I did try to see how much shipping was).

And good Monday afternoon to you, girl!
Night ya'll. (My sister just asked if my internet turned off -- ha ha).. shhh careful what you say - she's reading...

(GOOD moooooooorning, Jane!)

That's what I was thinking too Vicki - but no time to ponder it tonite.. That is a review for me.
