and if so - do tell!

(I had lots of quality time with myself - as dh had to work the first deer htg season & dd was with friends - ah! I remember being 17)

So, this is what I did:
- bought Michelle Pearson's photo actions & tried them - very cool!
- finally bought psp 11 (it was threatening to send me back to psp 7 - ugh)
- figured out how to do text on a path that's not a circle (there's more to life than a circle? imagine that!) - and did a layout
- my thread on acdSee's organization software pressed me into learning way more about making that program sing & dance - & I managed to catalog 2 dvd's worth of 'stuff'
- and then last night I got a bug & tried a template in psp & it clicked - it worked without the usual frustation - so that was cool.
template layout is here (http://www.digishoptalk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=31733&cat=500&ppuser=772)
- oh - and I typed up the list of credits for the mega kit for the beginner's chat tonite. That kit took 4.5 hrs to dl on dsl - so if you have friend's who'd like to get started - that kit has everything under the sun to get them started. The chat is 10 pm tonite @ DST.

So did you do anything fun - and you want to share? (and if you have a life other than the computer  - share that too! :D )

WOW Connie! You got so much accomplished! I did my best to avoid all responsibility this weekend LOL. I half way succeeded...

I made some snow flakes :) those were totally fun to make - but I found some blowing snow (read- stray pixels) yesterday, so I'm redoing those today plus adding a metal set.

I scrapped a bit - in the hair chair at the salon LOL!!! I took my laptop for while my color was processing but my hairdresser wanted to see all my latest creations so I sat there in the chair and taught her how to use templates :) so fun!

Then, on saturday, I taught a group of ladies how to make super quick and simple layouts at a baby shower (the hostess had bought a peal and stick baby kit so it was super simple LOL). The hardest part of it was getting the backing to peal off the back of the frames - and getting people to understand why I wanted them to only peal a corner of the frame (so the mommy to be could stick the pictures under the frame after the baby is born and she's filling in the album). Once, they were clear on that, it was smooth sailing and I stood by the punch bowl and cake and nodded approval while i gorged myself ;)

I've got a dr's appt this afternoon - have a fairly serious UTI after my kidney stone episode last week - blech - and we are going to Vegas on Thursday - YAY - so I want to be feeling great for that. Word of advice, a potential side effect of not taking proper care of yourself when you have mono is kidney/liver probems - kidney stone for me - ugh. So, if you get mono, definately follow the dr's advice and do NOTHING for a few weeks.

So, there's my weekend...

Hi Everyone:
Wow you had a very productive weekend...
I'm thinking about getting 11 not sure what the new features are so I will go readup on it. :)

I gotta tell you this is the first time in my life after 21 years I was without Internet access.
I started using the Internet before Mosaic was invented when it was Aparnet and NYNEX.

Using Sneakernet...This is the first time I didn't have access for a whole 3 days. Din't check email and blogs etc...

But I have to say it made me a better scrapper and I got a whole album of my trip done before I got home. I have 14 pages done with Journaling no less a major faite for me!

I will upload this weekend I want to use some of them for sketches.

Thanks
MAggie

Wow Maggie - that's great! (getting the album done - not the lack of internet.) welcome back!

For some reason I tend to get the journaling done when digiscrapping. I have 2 paper albums for my dd that haven't been journaled dating back 3 yrs... :(

And as to the lack of the internet - I can do it... but it's tough. (This past weekend I should've gotten some lilies moved instead of spending so much time on the puter. I hope the weather gives me another chance).

It's good that you could relax Vicki. My dd has this thing called a social life - so she's on the go. But your son is young & enjoys your time I"m sure!

Your snowflakes are gorgeous!! WOWSERS!!

Hey! I took my laptop to the hair dresser on Friday too - it's amazing how much one can get done under the dryer. (I used to delete work email offline - but scrapping is more fun).

And I hope that you feel good for your trip. Enjoy yourself!

Connie! I have questions for you Re: ACDSee! Do you know if you can backup the database with ONLY the categories, keywords and tags associated with the files? I don't need a comprehensive backup of all my files, because I already have a backup of my machines that runs nightly.

Do you know if this is possible? If so, how can I run the database backup just to preserve the caegorizations, keywording and tags I've created for my files?

Thanks!!

Yep, Tania - you can do a backup of that info.

Go under Database --> Back up Database
A wizard will open that will back up the acdSee database.
