Nina- how's the reunion going *wink wink*

Thanks for the coffee too.

So, ladies, we are all getting there-- last day of school before the winter break.
Thanks for all of the good thoughts yesterday, I am feeling better today. I got little bits and pieces done yesterday that I thought I would have to do today. So today, I decided just some light cleaning- dusting, vacuuming-- who the h*** is going to see my bathtubs anyway? Ya know? then some time to relax. Yay!!

This afternoon, my best friend and her kids will be coming over. We have a logn standing tradition of making "Magic Reindeer Food" with the kids.We have been doing this now.... 5 years? 6? Its a lot of fun-- and always interesting for pictures. Oh, I have to make sure I prinout the poem that goes on the bags.....

Hope everyone is able to find some to to relax and enjoy the day.

Happy TGIF!

OMG It's Friday ... and I soooo wish that it was Monday so I could have a week to wrap all of the freaking presents ... seriously with 4 kids OMG there is alot of stuff. ;) I almost started to cry last night when we were sorting through it. And I still have to go out today! :(

If any of you fulling understood how must I detest shopping ... you would feel sorry for me. I get into a store and instantly become overwhelmed and walk around staring at the ceiling. I would like to cry thinking about going back to the stores today.

And who stole the cleaning fairy??? GIVE HER BACK!

Hello !

That's it, I'm sick ... fever, cold, coughing .... just hope it gets better soon, if possible before sunday evening so that I don't cough throughout the whole mas ! In the meantime, Cdric is getting better, although we still have to struggle and force the medicine down his throat so he will take it ...
The 2 girls will be on holiday for 2 weeks starting tonight. They are both so excited about Christmas coming so soon :)
Fortunately all the kids' presents are packed, so I can rest a little bit. But I must admit I had most of them wrapped at the stores ... It's not as personnal as if I chose the paper myself, but it saves so much time.

Have a nice friday all of you, happy holidays to those who now are on holiday :)

Ok, so what is Reindeer food?

Technically you use oatmeal, raisins, Cheerios (no! Not you Krista!!) kind of stuff- and some ugra sprinkles. Mix it all together and scoop it into a bag.
There are a few poems around that you can attach to the bag. Here is one:

Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home

My friend and I end up grabbing whatever cereal has gone stale, some nuts, raisins etc. Anything that is edible by the birds and squirrels, really.

On Christmas Eve we goo outside, say the poem, make a wish for Santa, and sprinkle it on the lawn.

Good fun! You guys should try it. It has always worked for us :)

Happy Friday, all!!

Thanks for the much needed coffee, Nina! (vicki, my head was there, too, probably because my dh comes home from being out of town all week, but I'll pull both of us out of the gutter...heh!!)

Praying for your Jeremy's fam, Danielle!

To everyone else, glad to be with you even just for a short time in my busy schedule!! YIKE!!!!! (How many times can I say that!!???)

We make our reindeer food the same way, but I put some eadable glitter in it. Sarah its convinced its magic food and when the reindeer land and Santa drops of her presents, the reindeers will eat the food and the glitter helps them to fly!! Damn, I wish my imagination was as good as hers

I planned to have the last bits of Christmas shopping done today, but unfortunately Sarah took a hissy fit in the middle of the mall, so we ditched the shopping. Bummer really, because it means I need to do it tomorrow and DH and I are going out tonight. No hangover chilling tomorrow then *sigh*

I am DONE! DONE! soooooo DONE! with shopping.... now I have to wrap.

But tonite I have 10 lbs of potatoes to peel, boil & rice. Then tomorrow I have a date with my dd & her friend to make lefse in the afternoon. And since I'm doing the flour mess - I may make flatbread in the morning (it's on the sweet side & very healthy because it's made with Total Cereal - ignore the butter! lol). Heidi's family really likes it. That's what I'm bringing to our Christmas with Heidi - she doesn't know that yet.

I can post the recipe if anyone wants - you chill the dough, then roll it & bake it on cookie sheets & it is soft & yummy!

Then I need to make pies - pecan & pumpkin and devilled eggs for Christmas Eve. AND wrap gifts. No festivities here - so no reason to clean house!

Hope everyone's preparations are going well! Have a safe & happy one to everyone that's traveling!

Well, today I spent my time cleaning. My friend Katie, who I hadn't seen in 4 years, has come to visit us while we are here in New York. It's been so great catching up. So I won't be on much this weekend but I will take lots of pictures! :)

ugra sprinklesOk, this has to be one of my worst typos ever. Sorry for the confusion. This is supposed to read: sugar sprinkles- most likely the same thing as edible glitter.

Leah- how wonderful to see your friend. Like old times?
Connie- woo hoooopn being done shopping. But sweetie- you still sound like you have too much to do!
Danielle, good luck with Jeremy's mom. The holidays must be so hard on her.
Sally (((hugs))))
