Let's hear what you're doing? There are new products here at oscraps that are awesome! I have to get Genevieve's altered postage stamps.

My scrapping has to wait a bit. Today my sister & I are taking a brand new spanking computer to my parents to my parents where a wireless ISP has been installed - so they should be rockin' on the net. Then, after some lessons - I hope they'll use it!

We had ordered a book for them 'Easy Windows XP for senior citizens' & it arrived yesterday. I jokingly told mom to have it read by today - and she said - but, I have to vacuum! too cute. Oh mannn - I hope they use the thing! Mom has a digital camera - but didn't really have a purpose, so never got going with it. I hope this helps.

Then tomorrow I will be scrapping away.

Yoohoo!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the invite Connie, here I am :D

I agree with Edhish, I need time to look around too, there's so much to see!

My Mum and Dad were senior ctitizens and they both got on the internet before I did! I hope your parents will enjoy it as much as mine did :)

No scrapping plans for me this weekend: I've worked over 12 hours a day for the last week designing all sorts from cross stitch for two orders to papers and I need a break!

Meanwhile I have a very good book to read: Cross by James Patterson :D

How was your window shopping Edhish? Did you get your layouts done?

I had a good day with my sister. We had lots of quality time in the car as well as a few laughs. And all of us kids were together with my parents - it was nice. My mom & dad now have the internet.... look out world!

Tomorrow I'm sewing a cape for my dd's boyfriend (For Halloween I hope!) & scrapping, scrapping, scrapping!!

*waving* at Jane!! Welcome to the big 'O'. (I was missing you guys! ) They have a nice place here.

My parents did well with their mouse skills today. I hope they play lots of solitaire before the next lesson.

Ah - sounds like you've been busy Jane. I'm so glad that you registered & posted on DST (I was able to find you this time :) ).

Until tomorrow.......

I'm sure I'll stay around for a while if no-one gets fed up with me :)

It's gone 11am here in the UK, I've been up only half an hour and I feel like I've got a hangover! I can't possibly have one though, because I've not had any alcohol, so it must just be I'm not used to being out late (gone midnight) partying with family!

This afternoon we're off to MIL's to watch The DaVinci Code DVD and have lasagne for tea :D

Oh, I finished my book yesterday: it was OK, but a bit of a let down at the end :(

You girls sound like a blast.
What website did you all come from?

I am also in the "Teach Computer to the Parents" club. My dad had his own computer for a while, and thoroughly scared my mom to death that she would "do something" to it. I finally talked her into getting her own (ahhhh blessed freedom!) and have beenteaching her how to get around the net. She is having a blast emailing my kids.
(Don't tell her I said this, b/c she is improving, but my DS hd better mosue skills when he was 2 yo......) :p

As for weekend scrapping, I finsihed up one LO and then did another for Ronee's In Dreams kit.

How was DaVinci Code? Book was awesome, so I am not sure how well I'l like the movie.
Is Cross a new J Patterson? Haven't seen it yet at my library.
But I am working on #2 of the new Nora Roberts Trilogy.

We met over at Jen Wilson's Designs - I can't remember how I found that place originally, and everyone was really friendly. I started doing a "Daily Moos" thread, just a general how are you today sort of thing and it seems like I've been missed since Jen's site has been down. Connie invited me here once she tracked me down after I registered at DigiShopTalk, and there's our history in a nutshell :)

We haven't seen the film yet - we'll be going over to MIL's in a couple of hours: I'll let you know how it was :)

Yes, Cross is the new James Patterson. Get it from the library, don't buy it because it's not quite the suspenseeful story you expect: I was quite disappointed :( It's a good book, a quick read, but it seemed really shallow to me.

My lips are sealed about mouse skills  I get so impatient with my parents when I'm watching them because they seem so slow!

Of course you can stay Jane! (and they haven't kicked me out yet 8) so I think you're safe! My sense of humor & chattability skills are right in there with yours.)

Jane - have you seen the DaVinci Code movie before? I liked it, but dh didn't - but he hadn't read the book - I think that's important to understand what's happening.

Sorry about your book dear - but the library has more, I bet! I'm not a Patterson fan - but he's prolific & has quite the following. I brought home a new fiction called Mary - that's narrated from Abe Lincoln's wife's point of view - and the setting is an asylum later in her life. Not sure if I'll get thru it - we'll see - it was highly reviewed & I asked for the purchase of it. (a perk of being a librarian - I can 'recommend' purchases -- and then I review them of course! lol Did you know that you can do the same? we buy books for our customers all the time upon request!)

About the parental mouse skills - my mom had trouble with the dbl click, but my dad has big fingers & was right clicking accidently everywhere. He was cute - he'd position the mouse with the right hand & then click the left side with his left hand. And he said 'I don't do typing... why can't I just call you (rather than do email...)'. But he liked google maps! and we looked at guns... so I hope they use it. They have a connection speed I would love to have.

Today - I need to scrap some pages for my PDW CT - Lyndsay Riches - and I'm going to use heritage photos (I LOVE scrapping heritage photos! probably of DH's side). I CLOSED my DST window (then had to reopen to find the links for Ronee) - but that site is addictive & sucks me in! ok, ok, I talk too much! lolol When I break from scrapping, I'm going to make lunch for the family (dd's boyfriend comes over on Sunday's - and I love that boy). And he asked me to sew a cape for him for Halloween, so we'll do that. (He's good at humoring me by helping - it makes my dd uptight, but she survives & says MOM!).

So I'm off to scrap! hurrah!!

Hi faerywings,
I was at scrapmommies & then when that shut down I was homeless... sigh...I started posting at DST, but it moves so fast. When Jen's site was hopping - I stopped by & got sucked in, joined Jane's daily Moo's & enjoyed the fellowship. Jane has a great sense of humor (just wait!). I had found oscraps before Vicki redid the site. I watched for this new one to come up & have been posting here too. (I love Vicki's designs - she rawks!). Jen's site has went down twice & I missed my friends - so I invited them here. Last night I posted a thread at DST - so maybe more will come - who knows? Edhish is a very talented scrapper that lives in Sweden.

About me - I manage 7 libraries & 22 people during the week - that's the book connection. And I lead the technology area in my library system - so we have wireless access & I'm getting card readers installed for easy data transfer. Our customers can burn CD's & DVD's. So people can dl large files on our rockin' T1 & burn to DVD if they wanted. We are bringing in downloadable audio books... It's a great job! what can I say?

You'll love the movie for the DaVinci code. I see you use your public library too!! Hurray!! I have met Nora Roberts in person at a library convention - as she was autographing books (it was so exciting!) -- and then I heard her speak. I have also heard JA Jance speak in person.

I am going to check out your LO's & leave some love, then get busy on my own! (Doesn't Ronee do great work? There are some very talented designers here!!)

WOWZERS!!! I leave town for a few days and this place gets hoppin'! Welcome Jane and Edhish! I'm thrilled you are here!!!!

Let's see, didn't scrap a darn thing this weekend - went to VEGAS instead! so I'm recovering and working a bit on a collaborative project with 3 of the other PDW designers this afternoon.

Let's see if i can respond in a nutshell..

-would love to see some daily moooos

-DaVinci Code - loved both the book and the movie

-my taste in books runs a bit odd... I love fantasy - supernatural, dragons, knights, etc. (my favorite latest find is the Kushiel series which is decidedly NOT a book for the weak of heart...)

-Maggie, I'm tired just lookin' at your list

-Connie you are the BEST!

-Ronee RAWKS the house!!!

-If I missed anything, consider the fact I just got back from vegas lol

Awww, you guys are too sweet!

Let's see... I loved the DaVinci Code book, and liked the movie, but I thought some parts could have been done better. (But, Hubby and I work on Screenplays and make short films in our spare time (which is almost never, lol) and I am very picky about movies.)

Did I just put parenthesis inside parenthesis??? I think I did lol.

I'm usually a homebody, and I like it that way, but the last two weeks we've had a lot of family commitments to take care of. We're finally home for the day and luckily have the rest of the afternoon, so I'm going to go take a nap! :D

In between all of the family commitments, I've been working a lot on a couple of elements that are totally new for me, and waiting for Vicki to get back from Vegas so she can give me some CC, lol.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

I am so incredibly jealous of your libraries. Yes, I did say that. How many people can honeslty say they are jealous of a library? :D
Our town library is so tiny (but the librarians are absolute dolls which makes up for it). They had plans to renovate and put a new one within walking distance of my house, but it keeps getting voted down. In NJ property taxes are insanely high and anytime anyone mentions "raise taxes" it gets voted down.
I would love to see a new "hi tech" library in town. Somewhere it might even be "cool" for the teens to hang out at since we have nowhere for them to go as it is, unless you count skateboarding in the shop rite parking lor. :(

And I can't beleive you met Nora! Is she nice as she seems? I am such a huge fan of hers, been reading her stuff for moe years than I care to admit. She is also one of the few "romance" authors that really keeps the suspense going.

my gods, can you believe I just rambled this much about libraries? *giggle*

We can talk about libraries anytime you want.

Nora was very nice - yes! She also writes as JD Robb - as I'm sure you're aware. I'm trying to remember the whole story that she told us. It was about a truckdriver... and the bathroom... and her book moving him to tears.

It made the audience laugh though.
