Morning everyone!

So I didn't work on the Thankful Challenge or print my Christmas cards yesterday afternoon. I spent the time checking my digital supplies and backing up to EHD and DVD instead :D

But I'm on the job this monring and my first 10 cards are on their way! Only another 40 or so to do, then trim, fold and put in the envelopes, which also have to be printed... I love this part, getting everything all organised :D

Once I've done that, I'm going to make a start on the Thankful Challenge: I'm sure I had an idea last night, but I can't remember what it was

LOL Jane, don't you hate when that happens. I seem to do my best thinking when I am in the shower. By the time I get out- every last idea seems to have gone down the drain with the water. Must be the shampoo pulling all of the thoughts out. Have you posted a pic of the cards you are doing?

Thank you for all of the good thoughts for dh. Surgery went well. He is in a lot of pain, has to stay off his feet and not drive for three days. Can I admit to all of you how jealous I was when the discharge nurse was tellinghim to rest, relax, keep his foot elevated and so on? I am at the point that I would gladly take the pain (and the pain pills! ) just to get the chance to sit with my feet up for a few hours?

What is everyone up too for today? Getting ready for the big food day in the US? Personally, I don't do turkey- anything that actually looks like an animal is waaaay too....icky...... for lack of a better word, for me. So I'll eat my mom's stuffing and mashed potatoes and bring my share of turkey home to my doggies!

But on that note, I guess I am feeling a bit mushy this am (pms has officially kicked in), so Ia m going to do my "thankful-ness" here

(and for a tiny bit of background, dh has been on and off diability for the last 3 years- which ran out in Aug, and we haven't had a paycheck since then. Which explains why I am constantly running around doing weird jobs and all. At any rate, if it weren't for my family, I wouldn't have a roof over my head.....)

I am so thankful for my big brother, who still looks after me. and even though I owe him $445709530495458 from borrowing $.35 back in 1975 for an ice cream (interest compounded daily!) he can s till send me up some money so I can get xmas gifts for the kids.

My mom- who did the same and is helping me get the ingredients I need for the holiday baking that makes the holidays be the holidays.

My dad who spent the day at my house-- while I was with gary at the hospital- raking my leaves for me. And scheduled the gutter cleaning for us as well.

my kids--who are the light, joy and loves of my life-- my reason for being.

For Gary-- even though we are in such a tight spot and low point in the marriage-- I must still see the good i know is in him or I would not still be here. I am thankful for the love we have- that even though it is clouded by exhaustion and stress-- it is still strong enough to withstand.

My freinds- in reallife and all of you. You all provide me a safe place to vent and to laugh- a place to forget about the crap around me, and give me a chance to forget- to have fun and to create.

I thank you all for that.

I saw Jane's cards - they're wonderful! And I'm thankful for Hello! I'm meeting lots of friends! Last night Sue & I visited a bit :)

Chris - that's what we're here for - friends help each other out!

For tomorrow I have pies to make - pumpkin & pecan (not together though)
We're going to my dh's brother's house so I'm not doing the big deal (LIKE cleaning my house!!!).

Today at work will be quiet... but I have things to catch up. oh - and my director said I could work another year for her.... 8)

Ohh Chris duck, have big hug :D (Duck is a Nottinghamshire term of endearment) You managed to make me laugh and cry with your post: that compound interest  is the sort of joke my Dad would have pulled a few years ago!

I can only wish that circumstances get better for all of you. If I lived closer I'd come buy your services and at least that would be helping practically!

You know, I'm almost wishing we did do a proper thanksgiving here now, with all this talk of baking! Not that I'm any good in the kitchen department

Connie have a nice day at work: I might say Hello if you're not too busy :D I'm just printing out the last of my cards, so I've had a productive day... except I've still not tackled the Thankful Challenge...

Jane I hope we get to see those cards :D

Chris the times you are going through right now don't sound easy BUT I think your list really says a lot about the kind of person you are. With that attitude and character things will certainly get better for your family!

Ahhh Connie I have some baking to do tonight after work.....which is pretty much a scream because I may need to google map the route to my kitchen it's been so long since I've gone in there 8) I do love baking pies for the holidays, it's MY thing in our family and is also ironic because I don't eat pie.... in fact I hate pie and I more than hate cooked fruit which is pretty much pie LOL

Lots to do at work today but I'm hoping it will go smoothly.........

Jane~ How's that inspiration coming? Show us your cards!

Hugs Chris!!! I'm thankful for you to!

Connie~ I'm glad you are employed for another year!

Anna~ do a google map to my kitchen - we'll make those pies and drink some amaretto and Sunny D! (you know you have kids in the house when your cocktails entail a kid's drink as the mixer lol)

Today, I'm chillin.... and making my specialty - a yummy fruit dip. And, it's so easy and fortunately doesn't involve any cooking!

Here's the recipe:

Yummy fruit dip
1 pkg cream cheese
2 small jars marshallow fluff (or 1 big jar but I find it hard to get all the fluff out that way).
Mix it up in the food processor - voila it's done.

Cut up some apples and wash some strawberries and you are done!!!
Soooo yummy too.

Mooorning, girlies!!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in the last couple of days. I've been here lurking quickly before I did my chores, but I've been getting ready for tomorrow, and Saturday is the big party for my DH's 40th. So I'm up to my eyeballs!!

Jane, organization is just what I need. I'm going to take some time this morning getting my ducks (pardon the pun) in a row so we can celebrate in style this year.

Chris, I loved your post, and I am completely inspired by your fortitude to do what you need to do for your family! I'm praying for your marriage! This is such a great time of year to rekindle and find the true meaning of thankfulness!!!

Anna, enjoy your pie making!! I will be making a pumpkin cheesecake for the first time, but it's a kit, so it should be easy, right???

Connie, enjoy your holiday at your brother's! I am finishing cleaning here, because we are here this year. We wouldn't miss all those football games on my husband's new HDTV.

Well, I'm off to check to see if my turkey is thawing. I have such trouble with it thawing in my refridge! I do make the turkey every year, so that's kinda fun...ok...it's lots of fun, because I love the butter-wine sauce I use! Gorgeous!!

I am definitely going to do my LO with pics from tomorrow's celebration, because, like Chris, I am most thankful for my family!

...and I am definitely thankful for you guys, too!! Thanks for MOOing daily with me!!

Oh Sally, you won't be sorry! It is yum, yum, yummy! And a great way to encourage healthy snacking (which is something I totally need help with lol) without realizing it's healthy snacking!

Ahh well... everything was going swimmingly, until the last ten cards, which is five sheets of card stock... which are now jammed in the printer and I have to wait until DH comes home to sort me out

Here's the card I showed Connie:

All the others are already on The Happy Moo site in the Christmas (http://www.thehappymoo.com/christmas.htm) section :D

I suppose there's nothing for it, I will just HAVE to make a start on the Thankful Challenge....

Hi everyone,

Connie says I have to post more, so I will try. I am the quiet sis and I will try to break my "Constructive lurkers" syndrome. Definition is at wikipedia. :D

It sounds like everyone is busy. Since we are far family, we have no family plans. My college friend came up with a plan to have "un-family" Thanksgiving. She is making the meal, we are going to play poker (at my kids requests) and sit back and enjoy each other's friendships. Friendships are good to be thankful for too. Anyway, I am responsible for bringing the chocolate dessert so I am going to make a few different chocolate kind of cookies.

Today, we are suppose to hit a record high temperature so I am also going to finish the holiday lights outside.

This weekend we also have the kids school projects to do. Are these things kids projects or mom projects? At least my older son has picked out his theme "how the statue of liberty was built" and we have already got the libary books on it. He is suppose to be reading the books.

Everyone have fun enjoying your day!

Hi Hiedi! I love the idea of a friend Thanksgiving, I'm glad you have friends to share it with!

I just got home from the grocery store, which was delightfully not crowded! I stopped and rented some movies. It's a gorgeous day here, so I've turned off the heater and opened the doors to air out the house a bit! I'm going to venture into the attic and start dragging decorations down.

It's a good day!

Happy Day

Chris I'm glad your DH is hanging in. Your positive attitude will carry you far, especially when life is at one of the tough spots. Hugs

Jane your cards look great. You are so far ahead of me!

Sally the party sounds great. I'm ready for football.

Vicki I have dip recipe that's very similar and it's so good. I've made it for Bunco and parties etc. Big hit!

Anna have fun baking. I like to bake but I don't like to cook lol I think they're two very different things ;) I don't usually want to eat much of whatever it is by the time I'm done though.

I have a busy day. I have an icky dentist appt this afternoon, it's a long, long drive too. I'm going to try to take advantage of the time alone though. DH has been working so much, I could use the break. I have some stuff to do for Girl Scouts. I already managed to scan some old pictures that I'm hoping to resurect for some layouts. At some point we're going to have to hit the grocery store and start doing a bit of cooking for our part of Thanksgiving dinner. And... I plan on scrapping tonight.

I intend to take part in the Thanksgiving challenge but one thing I'm thankful for is my new blinkie!! :) I'm having a great week scrapping wise, I'm featured scrapper at DST then I get even better news, I get to be a Vixen :D

Have a great one!

SO Great to see everyone stopping by!! You guys are awesome

Sounds like you are very busy Keely! And way to go!! That's awesome news that you're joining Vicki's Vixens!! She's lucky to have you!!

Good luck with your boxes Vicki - I hope that you win. And yes, you're lucky that my director kept me on - otherwise I'd have to come & work for you. Wait?!! That sounds like a party!

Hi Heidi! glad to see you here. Heidi has the cutest boys! They're going to be in the gallery soon enough I bet! Heidi got me hooked on digiscrapping. She's made some AWESOME albums for her boys.

Jane your cards look great! hope your dh can sort out your printer. Those mechanical things can be a pain - but I leave my dh in charge of that area too. Although one day - after complaining for months - I took a screwdriver to the vacuum cleaner - and determined the problem. (But generally I don't go there because I'm really good at taking it apart - it's the putting back together that's an issue. :)

Sally- you just take a break whenever you want. And lurk any time. There are so many of us - the forum will keep a hopping! And great for you to have a clean house!! That is THE upside after the fact.

Anna - LOVE your comment about the google map of your kitchen! VERY funny!! I can relate - I don't eat gravy so when I make it - I don't season it..... but they still eat it... It's hard for me to even taste it.

And Chris - sending hugs your way dear!

Well dang ... the day is half over and I thought I had already been here!! Hmmmmm .... well better late than never they say right?? :)

I'm sooooo glad that I don't have to go through all of the Thanksgiving preparations this weekend ... ;) Toooo much work tooooo close to Christmas for me!! :)

I'm swamped right now with Dance stuff ... up to my eyeballs actually. And so that has brought on a huge case of procrastination for me. LOVELY!! It will all get done ... at some point. :)

I have spent the better part of today burning all of the pictures on the computer onto cd's ... over 5600 of them!! EEK!! Whew that's a huge task .. definitely WON'T be letting it get that out of control anytime soon. ;)

Guess that's about it.

Love ya,
Krista
