Who wants to WOW with me? page 1

Ok, so I've decided its time for me to feel good! I came up with this plan while walking yesterday.

There are 3 things I can do this week to start me on the path to feeling WOW!

1. Water - I don't drink enough. I live my life dehydrated, hence my kidney stone last month. I never want to go through that kind of pain again. So, its time to get and stay hydrated.

2. Walking - I sit at the computer all day, every day and my butt shows it. I pledge to walk 5 out of 7 days this week.

3. Washing - Ok, so I do wash regularly, but as a WAHM, there are days when I think "I'll get ready later" and I never do. I feel better and am more productive on the days that I take the time to make myself feel pretty. So, I'm going to shower and get ready every day.

There are my 3 W's for feeling WOW in the coming week! What are yours?

aww Vicki..... you want me to use that treadmill? (I've been meaning to for awhile... but let a silly excuse break a good habit). Ok I'm up for it. I need to get my body moving too.

But - I'm seriously thinking about doing something that I had previously joked about earlier... having my wireless internet turn off at 10 pm. How's that for forced self-discipline? Sounds silly - but I feel so much better at work having slept. Ever since I got this laptop - I've been pushing that envelope.

And in regard to food - I think I can cut back on portions. I've been trying - but maybe a more conscious effort would be better?

Ok - I'm in ... the treadmill will get me caught up with my Desparate Housewives DVD. I'm still on Season 1.

You have to count me in...I'm getting to where I don't want to work out on my every other day routine. So here's what I need accountability for...

1. WATER- I also could use more water * less food!!

2. WORKOUT - I'm doing Tae-Bo DVDs on MWandF and I will do something active on the weekends. Today I actually walked down the street a ways to take some food to the family of a neighbor who is in the hospital.

3. WASHING - I will do my dishes every day (This is my ugh-thing!!).

Thanks for the accountability!!

I'm here!!

1. Water- absolutely awful at this really, I love my cup of tea too much  But it wouldn't hurt me to drink a glass or two more a day. Earlier this year I tried the 8 glasses a day, and it almost made me ill  I found that my maximum is around 5 or 6 glasses before the benefit wears off and I'm just a sloshy mess!

2. Walking - well, I'll be going nowhere fast with this one won't 1?  Actually, I have devised a small set of exercises based on walking, but sitting down, that I try to do once a day. It has certainly helped my joint mobility, but now it needs to move up a level and be twice a day, then perhaps 3 times daily in a while, as I really need the exercise.

3. Washing - can I polish my halo, because I'm a regular angel at this :D We get up at 6am each work day morning, so I'm always showered. But I do fall down sometimes on the finishing off stage, so I can't be bothered with the make-up or doing my hair. And Vicki's right: it does set you up the the day if you've taken the time to look after yourself first thing in the morning.

And today I've made the effort: all showered, make-up on and wearing a very nice velvet suit :D

OMG, my poor brain is SHOT!
DH is an Opie and Anthony fan (ugh--not funny at all, must be "guy's humor). If you are not familiar w/ O & A
1. Consider yourself lucky;
2. They are shock jocks like Howard Stern.
Anyway, my point is that they have a WOW thing, "Whip then Out Wednesday. And yes, *that* is what they want women whipping out. The premise is that guys would have these WOW stickers on their cars, which was an invitation to be flashed.
And that is what my poor fried brain thought Vicki was suggesting at first!

But now that I know I won't get arrested for WOW-ing with y'all, I am in.

I will drink more water.
Work out in some way- whether it is walking, sit ups, whatever.
and my thrid W is not going to be a real W at all, but I am going to try to do something nice for myself for a change. Like Jane and the make-up,or sit down to read a book for 10 minutes.

OK here is where I stand on this...........

1. water.......can I include just a splash of scotch? I like it better that way.

2. Walking........I faithfully use the treadmill at least 5 times a week until the major toe injury.....hoping to get back to that ASAP cause it DOES make me feel better.

3. wash.....unfortunately I have to do the get dressed thing for the office, but I consider being able to hang out in sweats a perk of working at home. Your not gonna lose that are you V?
Connie
11-05-2006, 09:08 AM
I agree with Anna on #3.... I dress up for work all week & Saturday is my day to be relaxed (unless I have plans). So I wear sweats at home too or jeans. Sunday is family day here - so I do better with that.

Water I do pretty well & have an insulated mug at my desk all the time.

Ok girls - I just walked my mile (while I watched the Food channel & pondered lunch!). But before I joined my treadmill... I checked with the scale & I wasn't in as bad of shape as I afeared. I did a double take to make sure that it WAS a 1 rather than a 7 though! So that's encouraging - I just need to get this tummy back in shape.

So, Vicki - when I'm sore tomorrow - be prepared to empathize. (My family will be happy though - they've been hinting for awhile). My husband is 6'2, 49 yrs old & weighs 180 lbs! Amazing metabolism!

I've been beating myself up pretty badly and could use a WOW day...

I'm all for drinking the water...exercising (I belong to a club and haven't gone in a month)...

Here are my wows...(do they have to start with W?)

1. Do everything Vicki said...water,walk,wash which goes under taking care of me first. I am typing this with wet hair, turtleneck, and underpants (now isn't that a pretty sight!)...so I am going to finish dressing right after I submit this!

2. Sort all my paperwork and organize into folders...especially those with all my PASSWORDS! I can't find anything anymore.

3. Make the time...Take an hour a day to design something new. It doesn't have to be completed in that hour...just at least spend the time because I LOVE to design things!

WOW!

11-05-2006, 11:23 AM
AHAHHAHA - yeah, I'm not whipping anything out without some major plastic surgery!

I'm thrilled you all are joining me! I need the accountability!

I'm not giving up the sweats Anna and Connie - but I am going to be showering everyday, I just feel better when I do.

And, it doesn't have to be a "W"... just Whatever it is that will make you feel WOW!

I didn't walk yesterday, but I'll walk today - have to, had chocolate cake last night and a ton of halloween candy - blech.

I've only had 1 glass of water today. And, really, that is an improvement for me - some days I would have no water at all. I agree that I can't make it to 8 glasses either - 4-5 seems to be my limit atm.

I've been playing WoW (world of warcraft lol) with the munchkin all morning - giving him some quality time before I leave town tomorrow.

I'm SO in....i'm so awful w/o accountability!

I know tehy don't need to be W's but mine are anyway....

1. water....i'm dehydrated almost all the time, it drives DH nuts!

2. walk/workout...my goal is to do this 6 days a week

3. Weight Watchers...my goal is to track everything and stick to my points

(after 3 babies in 3 years, i have 30 ick lbs that don't want to leave me! yuck!)

   Vicki, you made me smile this morning! Well, I;m showered and dressed and that's about all I can say! I'm not really sure if I'm even awake yet!

Monday's WOW targets:

1. Take my pills because that's what they're for and they stop me feeling ill - fancy that eh?

2. Start small with 2 glasses of water in addition to the innumerable cups of tea I'll get through.

3. Finish a LO or a kit or both, because you know, I really do have the time.

4. Update the blog because it's languishing all alone!

Oops forgot to mention I'll do my face and hair too, no slacking :D

I'll be travelling today, so I'm just going to do my best.

I've had 1/2 a cup of coffee and 1/2 a cup of water so far today LOL.

I'll be walking a ton this morning as I have a million errands to run before my flight this afternoon - so it will be all 'unofficial' walking for me :)

Haven't washed yet, but I will in a few minutes - right after I finish labelling my house for my mom (she's coming down to stay with our son this week).

I'm in, too! But I'm replacing walking with yoga. ;) And I actually managed to do some yoga Saturday (despite being sick), and this morning. Feels great--helps relax my muscles (which always seem to be in knots), and slows me down a bit in the morning!

And I'm with Jane on the water vs. tea struggle... Lately it's like, "What? My cup is empty? Better put the kettle on again!" And I really need to drink more water! :)

Here's my WOW Monday so far...

1. I actually did an entire Tae-Bo video this morning...45 min!! Yea!!

2. My dishes are done until the dishwasher is emptied (happily by my 12yo!!) Yea!

3. Drank around 4oz water (and a cup of coffee...) now I'm drinking a Vanilla Cherry Dr. Pepper because it was the last one and the kids were fighting over it - that's valid, right? Ok, ok...I'll get my water in today!

1. WATER - So far, no water. BAD Tania.

2. WALKING - So far, in my slippers, I walked to the door of my son's preschool and to my car. NOT good. However, I have been working out ervy day for three weeks straight at the YMCA. I'm taking the day off - but I will go tonight. (This is why I haven't been around or designing much)

3. What was the last one? Short-term memory stinks.

Totally valid Sally - gotta keep the peace!

Anything you want the 3rd to be Tania - or nothing for the 3rd - it's what will make YOU feel WOW! And, way to go on the working out!!!! I'm not that far yet, still walking here.

Day Two to WOW

1. Stick with 2 glasses of water today.

2. Finish something!!!

3. Update the blog.

My WOW for today will be

1) walking tonite
2) took my car thru the car wash (it makes me feel better so it counts!) - it was filthy from the beet harvest - yes there was dirt from the fields in the road - they put up signs 'slippery when wet' from all the mud & in some places have a road grader take the excess off (seriously!) -- and on top of that I had a white dusting of salt from the first snowfall. It depressed me to open my car door & see that
3) I voted! and I did some calling checking on options for health ins. open enrollment. (oh boy - but a necessary evil)

Hello! I did great yesterday considering I was travelling. I actually made healthy choices for both lunch and dinner!!! And, enjoyed those healthy choices. Got some walking in and drank mostly water all day!

Today, I've already walked, have drank some water and some orange juice - this afternoon I'm going to go up to the rooftop pool and sit and read a book - relaxation - aaaaaaaaah - that is going to do a lot for my feeling WOW right now!

My wow day:
Congrats everyone for getting your water and daily excercise....

Vicki you need to come down here next we can go spend the day at Disney.

Tania are you going to the expo this weekend?

I actually did 3 sets of 10 of jump rope yesterday. I have to say certain part of my chest is hurting from flying around :)

I spend 30 mtes on the gazelle as well and tomorow is my first training with a trainer at the gym.
I get 3 free training and tonite I have a cycling class as well, the trainer told me excersing will get the fluid out my lungs quicker.
I left a message for my DR to verify she's on holiday...
I must say I feel good and exhausted at the same time.

My trainer told me the minute i wake up drink a cup of warm water with lemon to cleanse my system. (After brushing my teeth of course)

Good grief Maggie - I've just got here and read what you've done and I'm exhausted!!   I love water with lemon, it really does work, especially if you make it in a jug and add a pinch of cream of tartar. It used to clear up all those spots I had as a teenager, tastes bitter I guess, but I don't mind that.

I failed miserably yesterday and want to go and join Vicki on holiday instead!!! Only 1 glass of water, almost finished something and the blog still isn't done!

Wednesday's WOW Factor

1 . Drink those two glasses of water!

2. Update the darn blog or else!!

3. Enjoy a pot of Earl Grey tea this afternoon and settle down with a good book :D

*** shuffles in, head down ***

I failed miserably yet again :( No blog update, no water (but I did have a glass of orange and then apple juice later) and no Earl Grey... I am a failure... **sniff**

Well, that's not entirely true: I finished three things, ready to upload :D

Thursday WOW Factors

1. Upload and update the blog/store with new items.

2. Be nice to Dad when he calls in with my pills.

Great Jane:
I found I was feeling like failure for not following what I said I was going to do.
I had to change my mind set, not I didn't do all the things I should have been doing but I did accomplish other tasks. You CAN DO IT!

I went to the gym last night and spoke to a trainer. I had my assesment and found my body fat is way too high at 35.9%
He formulated an Excerise regimen for me here's the kicker He expect me to sign up for personal trainee to work out with me 2x a week at $80.00 a session which brings it to $640.00 a month.
I told him there'w no way that's almost my mortgage payemtn then he told me if I'm really serious about gettign healthy and losign weight I can takea small loan.

I got angry and asked him if he's going to pay the samll loan or give me a grant for that kinda of money???
My god who can afford that kind of money I know I can't.

Today I did 30mtes circuit at the gym and going for a cycling class that's 30mtes as well.

Have a great day everyone.
You can do it

So, some days I did good, some days I didn't this past week.

I walked every day.
I washed every day.
I drank atleast 2 glasses of water a day.

Not too shabby :) And, I lost a pound this week! Which I think is amazing considering I usually gain weight on vacation!!!!!

I did a layout for this week, but its on my other puter. I'll post it later.
