Good Saturday morning everyone!

Welcome to Debra! Look forward to getting to know you better.

I am so thankful for being on Genevieves team, so I already have ALL of her really cool stuff. :D

I do want that yummy Rasberry Cocoa kit by Vicki, and I am loving those calendar templates by Ronee.

Who am I kidding, I want them ALL!!!!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday. It is still cold here, but we won't ever get snow again probably. :(

Gooood Mooooorning y'all!!! I am so happy - I scrapped 3 pages last night! Templates and ACDSee are rockin' my world!

I'm kinda bummed though - my little crafting project the other day didn't turn out so well. I fell in love with these massage bars from Lush when we went to Europe a couple of years ago. So, I found a recipe for how to make them on the net and that's what I made the other day. Well, I shovelled snow yesterday so the hubby obliged with testing one out on me and well, they aren't that great. They smell good but they are not nearly oily enough to really work well. So, it's back to the drawing board.

I need simple, inexpensive but cool gift ideas! We just had Alyx and my ER bills come in (great freaking timing on that) so they definately need to be inexpensive. I need to make about 20 of them so they've got to be simple. :)

GOOD MORNING everyone!!

We have 4" inches of a white blanket & I'd say it's here to stay. Last night we were going to go to out to eat & ended up behind a vehicle moving 20 mph. Granted it was snowing hard & visibility was bad... when we finally passed - it was a tow truck pulling a bus going TOO slow. It took us 45 min's to drive 20 miles! Then we get to the casino & the buffet was closed for renovations....lol - no seafood night for Connie! But we tried the restaurant & yummy hickory smoked ribs!! So it was worth it. When we came home I commented on how pretty the sparkling fresh snow was... and my dh came up with the most romantic response.... he said 'yes, it looks like instant mashed potato flakes'. Heidi's response was .... she puts glitter in her mashed potatoes! (that's probably where he got it from). goofy! But I will chuckle now when I make instant mashed taters!

So today - I'm going to relax... relax...relax. We had new software installed at work & Thurs. was a 10 hr day & yesterday was challenging at best. I couldn't make things work - and had to wait for tech to help. (ie - no computers were working when we opened, then 2 were down, things were wonky, and only half would print.. you get the idea and in a library - this isn't a good thing when the public wants their internet!)

Anyway, we may go shopping this afternoon. I am hugely struggling with what type of camera to buy. dslr or digital with continuous shooting capability. I dunnnnno. Anyone want to give free advice? I'm all ears.

I also want to get a new printer. Mine is a 6 yr old inkjet. And I have these really cute chunky purse board books here. Remember when I posted them here? They were so stinking cute & super on sale last week - well I have to do one for that sweet niece you see in my gallery. She's two & needs a book of her cousins.

Anyway - those are some things on my agenda. I see that the magic laundry fairy was busy this week. (bless my dh for taking pity on me when I was sick!! and working at work - I mean putting in long days). But it does help.

And I need to start ordering Christmas gifts so that Heidi's brown truck can come here too.. He came to work yesterday & started bringing tax forms for January... ughhhhhh I hate tax season at the library. I get this funny tick on my face when people say - what forms do I need? or do I need to file if.... (do I look like a tax accountant? I AM a librarian) -- man - where did that come from.... all over a pkg of forms delivered! Boxes will be coming though...

Have a great day everyone!! I need to check out the store after reading the newsletter - new stuff I see!! yummo!! My Sushi girl just crawled in my lap (cat) - so I have to cuddle with her.. laters girls

Hey Vicki, you go! I did two LO's and am almost finished with the 3rd yesterday too.
What was your recipe for the massage bar? I can take a look and see what if anything can be tweaked. You might just need to cut back on whatever wax you used to hold it together. Or maybe try another oil and/or butter.

I made up a list of handmade gifts in a thread at DST

If you need any other ideas let me know

Good Morning All!

You all make my heart sing! What a great place to be!!!
You all made me proud of myself yesterday! Not bragging just sharing!
When I showed my DH the announcment, he read it with tears in his eyes! That was touching too, makes your heart sing!

Today is the big day....The Nutcracker! Hope we can get out from all the snow. They haven't plowed the roads in our subdivision yet. It's cold here too, so don't think it's going to melt anytime soon.

Do you all ever have weeks where you get a lot done but you feel like you are going the pace of a snail? That has been me this week. I feel like I am not accomplishing enough. I work around the clock most of the time, but I still can not seem to get everything done. It is driving me insane!!!

Thanks for all the congrats! You all are the greatest!
Love all the new stuff in the store too! Love it all!! Like you all, I want it all too!!!!

Vicki loved the layout you did of me! Your sketches rock! I have a couple almost finished, just need to do the journaling! That's the hard part!!!!

Hope all have a great day!!!

carla - have fun at the nutcracker! i hope you can get out from under the snow! :) congrats again! i got some great stuff of yours to play with. and today is my day to scrap! yipee!!

jeremy (bf) and i watched the davinci code last night. it was really good. surprisingly. we had both read the book, and thought it would be difficult to get it all in to the movie. so, i was pleasantly surprised. :)

this morning (err afternoon ;) ) the first email in my inbox was from simple scrapbooks asking for one of my paper layouts! another great surprise! :)

i'll be around all day... ttyl!

WOW CONGRATS Danielle!!!!! so cool!

I liked the Davinci Code too, although I did like the book better.

Carla - hugs lady! you are the best!!!!

Chris~ I figured out what I did wrong on the massage bars. The recipe calls for 3 oz of beeswax - well, I bouht a pound bar, did the math in my head and thought oh yeah, I can just break that sucker into quarters - um, no, that math doesn't work lol - that is 4 oz, not 3 oz. UGH! guess I need to figure out some way to measure 3 oz without a scale lol

I had a feeling it was that-- if you have the other ingredients on hand, you can remelt what you have and add more of the other ingred's and see if it works better. You'll have to figure ratios.

And IME, beeswax is much easier to melt if you grate it first. If you have a 3 oz bar of soap you can kind of guesstimate on that. I use a kitchen scale when I make my products. A postal scale would also work.

Have fun!

I've had another crazy day. My parents were in town, and then Bill and I went to see our new house and take some measurements. It's a lot smaller than I remember, but it's still cute!

I just returned from THE shopping trip of trips. (more on that later though because I'm still on a high - and trying to get caught up on reading boards.. and if I were to type now - it would be 2 pages)

GREAT candle idea Maggie!

And Vicki- that would be 1/3.3 of your original... .33333 - -but since you've used a quarter... I would probably need a margarita to figure it out. Wait! If you used 4 oz and started with 16 - then you have 12 ozs left. So, split it into quarters now.... and make 4 recipes. (you really solved your own problem!)

Krista - just start a new project girl

I liked the davinci code too

Congrats Danielle on your being published!! that's awesome!! We have such talented people around here! It's so amazing!

Beautiful Maggie!!!! Thank you!

Chris ~ thanks lady, I was wondering if I could remelt them. The beeswax melted very easily but it was a super small batch so that's probably why.

Connie~ Clever girl!
