And it's a big Moo-rning from me! I'm sorry I didn't get back yesterday to wish you all Happy Thanksgiving. I remembered on my trip out that I had been so proud of myself to remember the TOT, I forgot it was Thanksgiving!! I seriously think I need help!

My DH was a wreck this morning: he had to go to the dentist! And after all that worry the dentist didn't do anything because DH has a bit of a cold and it would cause complications if he had work done. He rang me sounding very relieved! So now he can enjoy putting together a beef vindaloo curry for this evening: his cousin Kate and her young man are coming for supper. Oh, and he's buying Pirates of The Caribbean II so I might be busy this afternoon

I've done my Thankful LO, it just needs uploading. I still have to finish my Christmas cards because I didn't get them done yesterday. Dad has asked me to make him a birthday card for my Mum, and even offered to pay me!

Half an hour later....

Help!! I can't upload to the Gallery. I've tried six times and just get Internet Explorer cannot display the page :( :( I've cleared out cookies, and everything and tried again, but still no luck... O Powers That Be - or Vicki   Can you help me out please?

Jane~ Usually that happens when the file is too large or you aren't logged in. Oscraps limit is 864 x 864 and 500k. (I did just change that, it was 800x800 and 250k).

Try again, I wanna see your layout :)

I'm movin' slowly this morning, I'll come back later when I'm fully awake :)

I had trouble the other day too ... I have to add the journalling information on the second page of the uploading process!! It's happened to me at Gotta Pixel in the past too!!

I was logged in, my file size is a mere 37k and the image is 500 x 500 at 72 ppi.

Thanks Krista, it was adding the journalling on the second page that did it, I've got it uploaded at last :D

Must dash, friends will be here for supper any minute!

Goomorning my beautiful American friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

And if you're not American, HELLO to you too! :)

I wished we celebrated Thanksgiving here too.. then, I try to do that every day, minus the turkey of course.

So what did you all end up doing?

Yesterday we spent an incredible day with family and friends! The weather has been gorgeous!!!

Today, I got the inside of the house clean and ready for decorating! AND! I got the 'eaves' lights put on the house. I've been outside in a short sleeved t-shirt today!!! I LOVE IT!!! Sure beats last year when it was freeeeezing putting up the lights.

So, my neighbor pulls up from being out of town for Thanksgiving and starts yelling "NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" because 3 of neighbors are outside decorating lol. He always grumbles....

I guess I best get back at it....

Oooh.. decorating for Christmas.. how fun! Lol... is your neighbor just jealous because he's not the first or does he not like decorations? ;)

Jane, that is indeed an awesome page! Love the big circles and the starburst!

Smoochies!

:x arrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!

I was telling DH how wonderful Paint Shop Pro XI is, showing him the excellent Traci Murphy action set and the difference they make to my l/o's (You could see the 'I have no clue what you are talking about expression on his face!!) At the moment I am using the free download, and I so do not want to go back to version 8! Great, DH is getting me it for Christmas!!

So, I have spent 3hrs working on what I consider to be the best l/o I have ever completed for my CT's new kit, all I had to do was add a poem I found on the internet.

What happened, I get a box telling me that an error has been reported with XI and is shutting down!!! :x I have never dropped so many f-bombs in my entire life I am annoyed!!!

Thanks Nancy, but I can't take credit for the layout, it was Ronee's template. The only thing I did was try and line up the starburst with the corner of the photo.

How's the decorating going Vicki? I'm sure it wouldn't take much for me to persuade DH he could get the tree this weekend if he wanted to

I'm here really late for me - it's almost midnight, the curry was super and I'm tired out and ready for my bed... but oddly, I feel like scrapping something...

Hi Ladies,
Wow - what a busy day! But it looks like ya'll held down the fort in my absence - so that's good.

I was SO foolish to make medical appt's on Black Friday. ugh! We got into the city at 10:30 am - and hit the post office first. That wasn't too busy - but a harried USPS worker told us how many passports she's processed in the last few weeks. (I wanted to tell her to breathe - but thought it was best to be quiet). But THEN when she stapled my ORIGINAL 40 yr old birth certificate to the paper work - I about said - honey, you don't scrapbook huh? It was scanned long ago... but still! Then she told me they would send it back with the passport...... owwwwwwwwwieee! I shouldn't complain though - we were in & out in 20 minutes. (We had filled the paperwork out in advance so that helped) And now I know that you need to file the purple form in 10 yrs... uh huh - with our govt? it'll go thru 3 colors by then. We went to the medical appts for my dd - and she made me realize she's grown up when she said - you don't have to come in with me. But it was all good. Then we went to lunch at our fav chinese buffet. It was packed & when we were paying, I said - 'boy you're really busy, huh?' and the young man looked at me & shook his head & said 'WHERE are they all coming from?" and I said it's the biggest shopping day of the year. (can we say culture shock? but they were dealing with the influx very well)

Then we went to the 2nd appt & learned about the new inhaler that can be used instead of injecting, but it looked like it needs refining. And we learned that the insulin pump is now coming with self metering of your blood sugar! And my dd asked some questions about the profession of being a registered diabetic educator.

Anyway - we got home late & I've been just relaxing. I think I've kicked my sinus nastiness & it's on the way out.

Vicki - sounds like you've had a busy day. I need to haul out my penguins. Oh! I saw penguin scrapping paper today - but resisted..

Talk to ya'll soon!

Jane - I'm still waiting for your curry recipe deario. Can you pm or email it to me?

Wow, I slept in until 9.20am! How is everyone today?

Cat, how great that your DH is buying PSP XI for you! I downloaded the trial version, but I couldn't get on with it: I hated that Snapfire took all my photos and DIS-organised them! The only thing I really liked was the time Tunnel effect for aging photos, but I decided 60 was too expensive just for that so I'm sticking with PSP 9 for now. My trial version never crashed but it's a good reminder to save, save, save as much as possible.

Connie, what a long day you had! It sounds like everything went well anyway :D I'll do the curry recipe later, and send it over. We had madras last night but we also have vindaloo recipes and one called lamb kofta which I really like.

We have been warned of severe weather here in the UK, mostly for along the coastal areas, but it's apparently going to be wet and windy. We're already snuggled in the Green Room (our computer office) with the door closed, keeping nice and warm.

And we learned that the insulin pump is now coming with self metering of your blood sugar! And my dd asked some questions about the profession of being a registered diabetic educator.

Hubby has been on a pump for a little over 9 years. What a difference. he uses the MiniMed one.
FWIW, when we talked to his endo re: inhaled, she pretty much told us that if he wasn't having problems with the pump, the pump is much easier and provides better control. From what she said, the inhaled only covers your quick acting insulin, and you still need the shots for long acting.

Gary just upgraded his pump and meter. It isn't the continous metering, but they work in conjunction with eack other. For ex. he can test his sugar and say it is 210. The pump calculates how much insulin in in his body, based on his basal rate of insulin. It then tells him, based on the 210 reading, how much insulin he needs to bolus to get his sugar into a normal range.
It sounds like you have great care for your dd, but if you ever have questions, please feel free to ask.
My cousin's DD has had Type 1 since she was 4 and is now 8 (how heartbreaking and scary!). After sharing some funny now that they are over low blood sugar horror stories, she was asking about the pump for her. IMHO, as soon as the kids are mature enough to use the pump effectively and not use it as a "freedom to eat what i want cuz all I have to do is push a few bottons to get the insulin delivery" system, it is a wonderful wonderful thing.
I haven't had to do the "stay awake, drink this juice or I have to call 911 and you'll get a glucagon shot in your ass is you don't" routine in soooo long.

Anyway, enough of my ramble.
Props to your DD for thinking about being a diabetes educator too. There aren't all that many good ones out here in NJ, I'll tell ya.

I just realized Sat's OOooooo are in here too!
Mooorning Jane and everyone else!

Jane I am sooooo jealous! You slept til after 9am-- Lucky dog, you!

Cat, (((hugs))) BTDT and it is a killer! But cool beans for the great gift from hubby.

Connie, glad you survived your busy day! Yikes!

Vicki, please stop!! No more talk of Xmas and decorating aaahhhh!! My kids infromed me, One month to go. *heart attack* "Elizabeth, its the big one" (anyone remember Sampson and son?)

Erin, what did ya buy? I have some stuff inmy cart, jsut waiting for a little extra time to check out all the deals and make the order.

belgianangel--hello to you too!

And to everyone I missed-- *waves hello*

Yesterday, was a nutty day. I cut ten sets of quilt kits for my MIL. Then I made white choc. shea butter cream, my Serenity Whipped Shea butter, 100 hand dipped lavender scented silk flower petal soaps (had to do them twice since I didn't have enough color in the first batch) and then had to package and label them all.

Since hubby wasn't able to come to my mom;s for T-day we had Thanksgiving here last night. Granted it was amostly re-heating stuff, but my DD wanted the table st with a tablecloth, candles, serving dishes instead of the tupperware that usually gets thrown on the table LOL. But it was nice fir hubby to get to celebrate with us.

Today, Caitlyn and I are off to meet my future SIL and her other bridesmaids for our dress shopping adventure. I have a dres from a wedding I was in a few years ago that was bought at the same bridal shop and is the same color as what SIL wants. Pleeeease keep your fingers crossed that the color is close enough that I don't have to buy another periwinkle bridesmaid gown! LOL
Cait is going to be one of the flower girls, so this willbe some *great* photo ops. OMG, I just realized-- The dress I wore tfor the last wedding-- my kids were the flower girl and ring bearer in that one. ROTF! And there is going to be me, (hopefully) wearing the same dress. What shall I do!

I hope to get home early enough to finish my oscraps shopping, and my Thankful LO.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Moorning all,

Sorry I missed everyone...I actually thought I had posted last night, but I guess my brain went to sleep after all of our Christmas shopping! This is the first year in many years that I have ventured out on BLACK Friday. What was even cooler was that my Dh and I got about 5 hours by ourselves to finish (except for one present for my ds) our KID Christmas shopping. I still have all of the adults and my dh's birthday presents.

Tonight is our BIG 40th Bash for my hubby. I have to keep writing lists so I don't explode!! It should be fun. I actually finished the slide presentation with music and everything (thanks, Adobe Premiere Elements!!), and his baby pics are sooooo cute!!

My big worry is that we won't have enough food. I'm not sure if there will be unexpected guests. I'm really only counting the people who RSVPed, but some people tend not to. Is that how it is in other states? Texas seems to notorious for non-RSVPers...Tell me how it is in other parts of this world!!

Chris, your extra Thanksgiving sounds great. We actually ate like that yesterday for lunch, but my FIL's incredible gravy as all gone, so the turkey was a bit dry! but everything else was still very tasty!

Jane, you sound so cozy in your Green room! Hope your Christmas stuff goes up soon. There's something so uplifting about living in a festive atmosphere!

CAt, did you ever finish your Thankful LO? I'm sure you were sooo thankful after your LO was done!!

Erin, Enjoy your goodies and share, share, share your LOs!!

Connie, your day wins the busy day award. I actually didn't go out of the house until 4pm, so only the restaurants were horrendous!! Glad your daughter is doing ok...It's interesting to read your and Chris' posts about diabetes. My daughter had a friend in ballet (around 3yo) who got in on the pump very early in life! Her mom still didn't trust it and still would get up every 2 hours in the middle of the night to check her. She had not slept through one night for three years straight. That amazed me that she as still sane!!

Vicki, you go girl...cleaning and decorations!! We're hoping to decorate tomorrow!! Yea!! I love Christmas!!

Happy Saturday, all...and pray that the party goes well tonight!! (I'm not sure I've gotten enough sleep to pull this off!!!)

Sally~ Good luck on the party! I hope you all have a wonderful time! Yes, Oklahoman's are like that too - we all just think, well, of course you know I'll be there....

Cat~ Hugs on the lost layout! Hope you can recreate it!

Chris~ Hope you get to wear that dress again!!!

As for me, I gotta come back later and catch the rest of you, the munchkin is begging me to put up the tree - like NOW!

Happy Saturday everyone!!

This morning was luxurious - I slept in til 8 am!! and it would've been longer if dh wouldn't have crawled back in bed with me to prove that it was 15 degrees out & that he'd been hunting for 2 hrs. lolol Good thing I love him!

Thanks for the info Chris. My dd tried the pump but didn't like the idea of sleeping with it. (We went thru a period of 6 months when she was 14 or so when she refused to go to sleep because she was scared she was going to die. That was a long haul... ). She is very responsible with her 5 injections & I agree with you that the inhalant seemed less than convenient.

Jane - thanks in advance for the recipe -- yummy!!

Vicki - you're motivating me to get the boxes out...

Sally - I hope your celebration goes well! Aren't lists a good thing? It's the only way I survive!

Cat - that's such a bummer about the LO going poof... my psp hangs too - sounds like it's an extra 'feature' of psp 11!

Nina - I hope your organizing continues to go well!

Chris - I hope your dress works for you & them

Jane - stay cozy in your green room!

I decided to go visit my mom tomorrow & help her with her digital camera. She has the computer now & is doing ok with it. So that will be fun! Today I need to cook (I suppose), clean house (ugh! that's why I work out), finish washing clothes (& fold the clean mountain) -- and just be happy! I think there is even scrapping time in there!!

And ....... I bought home the newest copies of Memory Makers & Creating Keepsakes. It's my duty as librarian to review them before they are put out for the public. (my staff know this! lol because we wouldn't want anything inappropriate getting out there ya know?!!). Speaking of that - does anyone wonder what happens to the Sports Illust swimsuit special? Well at my library they used to keep it behind the desk (when a nun was in my position --- seriously!! on both accts). Now - I dispose of it tactfully in the round file. If people want to see that - they can buy their own copy. Now you know the rest of the story...
