moorning everyone!

My Christmas cards arrived so I'm ready to get those out. None to early either! And my shopping is almost done. Christmas is a bit of work girls. The scavenger hunt at Oscraps is a rockin' the house! It's great fun to see new people moving around here.

I hope that everyone is finding time to relax in this busy time. Thanks Leah for the great freebie yesterday - wow!

Well I have a new printer to install - the first Epson was a lemon. yuck I hope the 2nd one cooperates better - I mean works!

Moooorning Connie! have fun getting those cards out and setting up the printer! I know several people who have gotten bunk Epsons, I am in love with mine though!

So, I totally overslept this morning. It was wonderful getting a full nights sleep. I just kept sleepin' and sleepin' and sleepin'.... ooopsie!

Today, I've got to finish wrapping presents before the munchkin comes home from grandmas. I planned to do it while watching the devil wears prada but I got so inthralled with the movie that I totally slacked on the wrapping. Totally enjoyable movie! Thumbs up from me.

Hey my friend and I watched that last night. It's so fun to sit in one's PJs and watch other people running around w/designer clothes.

Hello everyone!! :)

Today I have already done 3 loads of laundry . . .trying to catch up!! (it is AMAZING how fast you can fall behind when you have a family of 6!!)

I desperately need to declutter my whole house!

We need to get a christmas tree today or tomorrow . . not sure . ..Maybe I will just put up the fake one that we got last year. . . . . hmmmm

Hope to get a bit of scrapping done today! :)

WOW! cleaning and laundry... I should be doing those as well, but it's not going to happen! I've nearly finished the gift wrapping. But now I've got to stop and go buy those last few gifts today.

We always have a fake tree as I'm allergic pine. I can't sleep in a house with a live tree, I can't breathe by morning blech. And, I can't even help decorate one, my hands break out in a horrible rash. Sad, I do love real trees, they are so beautiful - but I like breathing more lol!

Good luck on either getting one or putting up the fake one!

That is horrible that you are allergic to pine!! Do you get air freshener so that you can smell the pine? (one of my absolute favorite smells this time of year!)

I haven't done the cleaning yet . . . still sitting here . . . and the laundry that has been done . . . is not sorted or put away yet! LOL

I still have to do all of my shopping!! Well almost all . . .I have the stockings done for 2 of the kids . . . need to get stuff for the other 2 and for DH.

But I have no presents yet!! argh!!

I have a friend that tells her kids (when they start understanding . . .wish I was this smart) that you only get as many presents from santa as you are old . . . but you get no more than 5! What a smart woman, I tell ya!!

Mooorning, all~

I've already been to a "casting call" for my two older kiddos at an agency. We've done this before but never pursued anything. But my 12yog really wants to act, so we have to seriously consider classes (they are sooooo expensive!!) We'll see tomorrow if they even ask her to do the classes. My son wasn't really in it, but we'll see if they liked him tomorrow, too. What an industry!

Anyway, I still have gobs of Christmas shopping to do. I may do it Monday night when my hubby can watch the kids. I've got one more Messiah to play tonight and tomorrow is church and our fun church Christmas party in the evening. IF there is a call back for the casting call tomorrow, we'll have to go to that in the afternoon. We'll see. But I've realized I can't shop with 4 kids! Yike!!

I also have to do a bunch of card making! TIME...someone give me TIME!!!! (all I want for Christmas...)

Thanks again for all who voted in the Christmas card poll earlier this week. That was fun! I still haven't decided...guess I should do that...if Connie can send her cards today, maybe I could send them by next Friday!!

Have a great day off today (if you've got a day off!!)

Good afternoon!
Yesterday Hubby and I spent the day shopping. Oh so long! Then we took Taylor to get a computer last night. While they were hooking it up, I was wrapping presents. I got to bed at 4 a.m.!!!! The sad part, I am still not done. I ran out of boxes. Tonight is another shopping trip! Then Monday I go with my Mom and hopefully I will be completely done. I hate when I wait until two weeks before Christmas to shop and then have to run here and there to try to find what I am looking for. Just the mad rush the last two weeks gets to you! So, I am dropping by quickly to say hey and hope everyones getting in the spirit and having a wonderful weekend! :D

I like reading about all you girlies' days! Most of the time I just feel like I am having the same day over and over again with nothing real exciting to talk about. Do you ever feel that way??

I keep wanting to start doing one fun/different/big activity with my 2yo each day. Anyone have any favorite sites with kid activities? I want my girls to look back and remember fun things we have done when they are older and not just feel like everyday was the same o thing. Ya know? :)

Sara - I'm so glad that you're joining us here! We just talk about whatever ...

Others probably have better ones but about.com has fun activities, familyfun.com (magazine website) has fun activities and I just found a new magazine with activities online - http://www.cookiemag.com/

Here is a great one that my kids love. I started this holiday tradition when my child was 2 1/2. Making gingerbread houses. Seriously.

Here is what you do: Get a box of graham crackers, a tub of frosting and some candy decorations. I usually use all the leftover candy from parades, halloween, etc. All that stuff the kids won't eat. The trick to making the house hold together well is to hot glue the crackers together into a house shape. Obviously don't eat it. Use a piece of cardboard the ground. (about 8 x 10.) Some people use frosting to hold their houses together but hot glue makes them sturdy structures for toddlers to decorate. Then glob on some frosting, give the child a spoon and let them spread. They love this part. Eventually when they tire of this part, then let them stick candy all over. These houses make the smell really good!

For the first few years, I hosted a gingerbread party for 2 - 5 year old kids and had about 5 - 9 kids decorating. Now I only do it with my kids. I have done this for 5 years now and my kids love it. Each year they get a little fancier. Sometimes we do halloween houses, valentines houses, thanksgiving houses. Here is photo of my kids doing it when they are 2 1/2 years old.

In the gallery, I scrapped it as a tradition:

Hi Everyone:
I've been so busy I didn't put the lights up outside. My neighbor accross the street someone called the police on them.
I'm glad someone did He has everything decorated and synchronized music to lights, plus trains that plays on until 3 am in the morning. a workshop and a generator going at the same time. plus a huge sign honk if you enjoy the decoration. Peole are honking all night long.

I don't mean to sound like a grouch it's beautiful pass midnight I gotta sleep not listening to jolly santa and the choochoo train going on all night.

The first night was incredible everyone came over to look at it and had a great time, it was fantastic after 5 days we couldn't take the no sleeping anymore.
The police came and told him the town ordinance is 10 pm. we agreed he can keep it up till 11 pm, golly it was 1 am he still didn't have it turned off.
I don't mind the lights it's the nightlcub music I can't take until 3.am.
Sorry I'm a grouch lack of sleep makes me this way...
I'm thinking of calling the police myself if the sign for honking doesn't come down at 11 pm and the generartor racket as well.
Sorry guy's i'm cranky.

Yeah, I know it is technically Sunday, but I missed Sat's O's and needed to catch up

Everyone seems so busy and getting so much done the past few days, awesome girls!
Cleaning, laundry, cards, wrapping-- and Vicki- sleeping in.... very nice.

Maggie, your neighbor is so obnoxious. I love a nice light display but lets me considerate? I hope he listens to the police and you are able to get some sleep. If not can you use an eye mask and/or ear plugs?

Prada sounds like a fun movie. Would a guy watch it too? Or is it basically a chick flick?

Nina, happy homecoming!

Sally-- how exciting for your kids, lots of luck!! And I hear you on waning time. The things I want most for Xmas are Time, Money and Peace on Earth- and sadly they all seem to be lacking in "realistic" column.

Sara, Being home with a 2 yo can be a bit.....umm... dull, when they aren't making you so crazy you want to pull your hair out!
Some things I used to do with my kids:
- have a parade- instruments, or even spoons and pots
- rice box- get a plastic tub, fill with lots of rice, and use it like an indoor sandbox. Scott loved doing this until one of our cats peed in it when I forgot to cover it. :(
- puppet shows. We have video tape of my guys doing all of these puppet shows. They are hysterical!
- Crayola Model Magic. It is this non-crumbling air drying light modeling compound. If you buy the white, you can color it with markers and as it mushes around the colors spread and swirl.
Hope this helps you get started.

Ok, my dears-- now I am off to read the Sunday O's :)
