rushes in, gasping for breath.....

OK, quick Moo... On a deadline this morning and everything has conspired to make me late!

Ours was a quiet Halloween, it's not quite the event in the UK as it is over the pond. The boiler is fixed, just one leaky screw in the end :D

Maggie, I'm so sorry to hear your job news :( Nothing I write sounds terribly comforting but I do hope you find something else when you need to. I remember earlier this year as we were signing our 10 year fixed mortgage deal, DH was facing redundancy - it was scary at the time, but it all worked out in the end. I'm a firm believer that "It will all come out in the wash!" as we often say over here :)

Well, I'm sorry ladies, I have to dash, I have an appointment to keep!

Have a great day :D

Have a wonderful day Jane. Have you ever noticed that the more you need to be on time, the more things just *happen* that make you late? I hate that.

Maggie, I am so sorry to hear about your job. One of the things I hate about our society is that in many cases it seems the only thing that matters is the bottom line for the elite few. I am so sad to hear you are caught up in that.
*takes a calming breath* I could go on and on( I told you I was rabidly political) but I won't.

Cello- how did the pics come out? You have to share! And I am still wearing my Harried Housewife costume, with a few new add ons. I am getting ready to go to work, house cleaning, so I am wearing my cleaning belt- you know that canvas tool-belt type think that I can stuff rags and all inside the pockets? My poor legs are so tired from T or T-ing that I know I am going to be dragging my butt cleaning today.

Ronee, ain't it the truth? The time you spendmaking the stuff ends up not being whatever small profits you make LOL. And I don't know if you ran into this at all, but many people don't understand essentialoil vs fragrance oil-- not the extreme difference in cost. I was never planning on using fo's but I needed something less expensive to draw people to my table so I could explain the benefits of eo's.

Connie, how did the kids do in the snow? Yikes, I would not want to do that. Thankfully is was upper 50's low 60's here-- very nice weather for us.

I cannot beleive it is Nov. already. I am so not going to be ready for Xmas. Money is really really tight this year soo it is going to a mostly handmade holiday.

Good morning everyone!

Go Jane go! and I'll catch up to you this evening (your time) when I do lunch today - am NOT leaving my computer on at home today - I was Hello-challenged all morning at work! ugh. Couldn't talk to my friends.

Oh Chris! new tool belt - woot! Wanna know something cool? That digiscrapper that I met in person works in house construction. I would so love to do that! (well - ok maybe for a week or so). I love building things. I designed & instructed my Uncle on how to build my Victorian covered porch & love it. But I'm kinda dangerous with a hammer - so it may not be wise. (I know - where'd all that come from - about a tool belt - but you must be getting to know me by now!)

Maggie - I am very sorry to hear bout the outsourcing. All I can say is that I am SO not impressed with that concept. The customer service is horrid when there is that communication barrier right off. And they're paying those people peanuts to call themselves John & Frank in India & the Phillipines. (I know, because I ask them where they're at & how much they're getting paid - - ok, I'm not shy). Every chance I get on a survey for Dell or HP - I speak out about how WRONG I think it is & what a disservice it is to the consumer (as well as taking away work from US people. That's United States people - not us. ok, enough... as Jane says - it will work out - but sorry for the heartache.

I waited til today on purpose to post about my day yesterday. Good thing I had cleaned my desk off on Monday because I had a visitor yest.morning. He is the dh of one of my staff & he delivered a grievance. As I was listening to him (because it is inappropriate to talk about personnel issues) - I paused to explain my philosophy on how I work - and the man had the audacity to infer that I was lying & question my integrity.. OH! that did NOT sit well & I told him he's entitled to his opinion, but that he may need to agree to disagree with me (am I polite or what - my dh said I should've told him to 'get the f*** out'. I've been thru grievance stuff before - that's not a problem, it's more of an irritation. My boss has to deal with it. So Maggie girl? we all have things to put up with - it goes along with the job. (mine will be shortlived - but you will find new opportunities and we're here for you along the way).

I better get moving. Keep those Halloween photos coming! I posted instr's on how to put an image in - if you were wondering how. Techo-librarian at your service

Good Mooorning Girls

YEA Halloween is over! Now the festivities can begin with Thanksgiving and Christmas!!

Jane I am pretty anal about being on time but the rest of my family constantly make me late........hope you got to the appt. on time and not too stressed!

Connie, ugggg I hate dealing with employee issues. Sounds like you handled it VERY well, which is very hard to do sometimes.

Maggie I will keep you and the job situation in my thoughts and prayers. Stay positive and something good will happen.

I worked on a layout last night for the "Rules" book I am putting together for Rylie. These layouts come together so quickly for me, I guess because I am so inspired by the message. I uploaded to the gallery and now am waiting for VICKI to get me some new stuff to play with.... 8)

I've got some work to catch up on, will check back later.
Have a great day all!

Sally - about your shorts - I'm happy for you! Personally, I'm a turtleneck girl! 8) We have a joke here - we have 6 months of winter (seriously!), spring, fall & one day of summer! lol But I do enjoy wearing the warm layers...

I took a picture of the gentle snow drifting down over the half frozen lake this morning - it's quite the contrast to the photo I shared with Jane that I took on Sunday! (Hello is pretty cool!)

Anna - it is true that experience has taught me to stay calm. But afterwards I was surprised at how that yucky converation was handled. (oh! am I getting old & mature? nevah!) What type of business do you work with? And you're caught up with your layouts.. wow! Ms. Carla is giving us tons of goodies to work with -so I have to get busy or maybe get fired?

hmmm it's been pretty quiet here - Vicki must've really been partying last night with her trick or treaters?

ok, Jane, I never want you to feel stressed getting the daily moos in here!!! We'll all just start a new one saying, "where is Jane?" lol!!!

Connie - blech on your day yesterday!

I got all the Halloween decorations taken down this morning. I think one reason we get so much traffic on Halloween is because we live on Griswald Lane! We actually live on a cul-de-sac and everyone decorates! Well, one house did not decorate this year but that was hardly noticable lol. One neighbor even built a small graveyard - complete with a scary, wonky picket fence, about 10 headstones (all with funny messages carved into them- wooden - that man is insane lol), a noose hanging from the tree, bats circling under the tree, everything. We only put out about half of our halloween decorations this year because we were suffering with Mono at the beginning of the Month.

I'll dig out a pic of my house from this year (never got around to taking pictures of everyone elses houses) later, I get to do payroll today, so that will take up most of the day.

Anna ~ I'm working on it! I've got a collaborative kit I did with Holly McCaig coming out this week, finishing up one I'm doing with Ronee, finishing up another one in the Zen-10 line, finishing up a Winter Wonderland one, starting one with Lauren and another Dawn Wilson. So, um, yeah, one of these days you will have tons to work with from me lol.

I guess I best get started on the rest of my day now!

Morning, girls! I think I missed a day in there somewhere...I tried to go back and get caught up...

Maggie, so sorry to hear about your job. That really stinks! I hope you're able to find something new soon.

Man, Vicki! You're like the Collab Queen over there!

A collab is my excuse for me being MIA the past couple days--Leah Riordan and I just finished a collab(my very first), and it's up in the store today! It's a totally fun Christmas kit. I also posted about it in the announcments forum so you can find it there.

Our Halloween was pretty quiet too, which I am thankful for. We don't celebrate Halloween ourselves, but I can deffinitely see the cuteness in little people dressed like pumpkins (etc.). Unfortunately, amongst all the cute, costumed little ones there are always the big obnoxious ones(who are too old and too rude to be trick-or-treating), and they really bug me. So much so that we try to not be home on Halloween. Luckily for us, though, the apt complex we live in now doesn't allow trick-or-treating, so I was off the hook. :)

Anyhoo...back to work. Hope you all have a good day!

Connie I am a corporate controller (accountant)...... I would say that dealing with people is one of the hardest parts of my job. I have a tremendous amount of patience for people who work hard and try to do their jobs (even if they make mistakes) but I have NO patience for slackers and have a really hard time being diplomatic

Genevieve I left a comment in the announcements section but that new kit TOTALLY ROCKS, I love it!

Vicki No PRESSURE, just you know when you show me previews and I LOVE what you've got hidden on that hard drive I just get antsy to PLAY :D

Moo...

I had it all worked out this morning: get the war paint on, settle down the cleaning lady, pop off to the doctor's and come back to write the Moos. Then my Dad called and messed up all my plans!

"We're going out. Are you coming?" Imagine here, going out with Mum and Dad entails two scooters and me in my powered chair toddling behind... already I'm humming, "We've got a great big convoy..." and visualising the terrors of crossing the roads.

"Your Dad's got his spending hat on!" says Mum. Well, why didn't you say so?? What time are we leaving??

Actually, I did rather well: I've bought 3 Christmas presents (on a 3 for 2 offer) and got a 5 voucher for some war paint. The very nice lady at the war paint counter said I'm quite olive-toned and I could really wear much more striking make-up. Ooh tell me more, I always thought with my Mick Jagger lips I'd look stupid! So now I have a new mascara, a tinted moisturiser and a smashing lipstick... and another 5 voucher  She was so helpful, giving me tips on how to put on my mascara for better effect, that I felt on cloud 9 when I left!

Which could account for Howard, the owner of the restaurant where we always eat, greeting me with a rose between his teeth and a big kiss!!!! I might not go out very often, but when I do, I do it with style

Chris, I had to smile at your comment, "Thankfully is was upper 50's low 60's here-- very nice weather for us." because I was teling Connie it was cold here, and she said, "Oh it's 22 here" and I realised she must mean fahrenheit. So I checked our weather in fahrenheit, and it was 50, which is not cold by your standards at all, but is quite cold enough, thank you very much!

One thing I've noticed as I've got older, I cannot keep my mouth shut! When I worked for a citizens advisory project, I had to bite my tongue lots of times, the client is always right. Bah! Not any more they're not!! Which is why Connie should be applauded and I don't work in that capacity any more: I know my limits

I must remember to pop by and look at your Rules again Anna. I think I might just make one on a similar line for myself next year, because I need daily reminders that I'm not a complete waste of space and the world isn't out to make my life as difficult as possible, even when it feels like it is!

I wasn't too stressed Vicki, honest, unlike you with all that work you've got to do today! Which reminds me, I should go complete the cross stitch order that someone has just sent me a cheque for!

Jane I can be helpful with the Daily Moo too. I was known to start them at the other site too. It's no problem. I come here in the early am now. (oh! that reminds me I haven't been to DST yet - uff da!) And Jane you cracked me up about your shopping trip. When my mom's foot was in a cast in August I took her shopping & pushed her around the store. It was so weird - I realized that when I shop (groc's too) - I leave the cart at the end of the aisle & sprint up & down. So, I had to quit that - and take her with me...

Anna - ty for sharing your occupation. I agree that the personnel issues are my biggest challenge too. I love all other aspects, but.. discipline is rough. And I don't have time for slackers either. I agree that everyone should make an effort. And if there is no effort, then it's my job to motivate otherwise I'll have all of my staff following suit sitting on their duffs (& I'll have to cover for them). I don't take the grievance part personally anymore - so I'm fine with it. But it still colours the day. (Hey Anna! Vicki shared some of those previews with me - & I can understand why you're dying!)

Vicki - I was just razzing you. You do a GREAT job of maintaining a presence on this forum. That always impressed me. Bet you regret that huh?!! - cuz I've moved in! mwahahaha (Everyone is so awesome here though - so it's gonna be hard to kick me out).

I have to go see Gen's new kit. My list is getting longer, girl!

Hey girls - I came over here to tell you about a site for free fonts. (and then get dragged into jabbering  Can someone toss it in the free area too - Miss Mint had this link in her newsletter:
http://www.identifont.com/free-fonts.html
Check out the first one in the Walmart one - hahahahaha

O! and I see that Oscraps is up to 34 on the top 50 sites -- WOOT! {{{{GROUP HUG}}}}}

Ok, back to work, now.[/url]

Afternoon girls...

I didn't realize how much I miss my daily moos in the morning until I missed it this morning!!

I got up and got the kids out the door to meet my aunt and her friend at a quaint shopping town up north of me. It was delightful (although my son didn't think so!!!), and the kids were very well behaved in a bunch of stores with breakables, etc!!

Must have been a shopping day!! I laughed out loud reading several of your posts today!! Thanks for keeping me in stitches!

Connie, it's a very good thing you like layers. I actually was born in Minneapolis, moved to Grand Forks, ND when I was 1.5 and moved to TX when I was 6. So you know my blood is THIN!!! And we have exactly the opposite of you...10 months of summer, 2 days of winter (usually in January or February - take your pick!!), and the rest, a smattering of fall/spring days. Today I actually wore a jacket for about 20 minutes! (That's a lot for me!!) Last winter I wore my leather jacket only 2 DAYS!!

But, here's my toot for the day... Last night we visited a neighbor's church for their Hallelujah Festival and the kids dressed as the three wisemen and an angel...They all 4 won trophies at the costume contest! They were really excited! I'll post a pic in a minute...I can't find my usb cable to download my pics!! ugh!

Thanks for the cool kit, Genevieve!! I love snowflake paper! off to scrap... (only have 20 minutes before I have to be a white tornado!!!)

UGH! I think I'm going to throw up. I just got the insurance benefit statement for my ER visit a month ago. My part (so far) is over $1000. We haven't received the EOB for Alyx's visit (which is wierd because his visit was 3 days before mine - whatever). Looks like there won't be any shopping in my forseeable future.

Guess I best get my butt to designing and actually 'finishing' some stuff so maybe I can dig myself out of hospital debt before this time next year LOL.

Oh, and I guess I better get back to payroll, I'm bettin' the other Oscraps designers would appreciate that LOL.

Great photo Sally! They look really happy. Awesome that they won prizes - that always makes it fun. I live an hour from Grand Forks, & work a half hour east of Grand Forks! I'm awayyyyyy up here. And, yes our blood is thin & we move FASTLY.

oh no, Vicki! Medical costs are ridiculous! I'm sorry to hear that. What a pain! in a different place.

But maybe now Anna will get to play with some of the stuff on your hard drive that she's drooling over.

Ok- I'm off to scrap a LO for the PDW blog (oh mann! I'm scared - it will be my first challenge there & a LO will go with it). Vicki did part of the collab kit. I think I'm going to use a photo from one of my staff. (I'm excited that she brought me a CD of her grandchildren - - yes, I'm photo challenged, so I'm scrapping for her!). Or maybe it's just because I'm really a nice boss! ;)
