I just got back from Sam's Club (I assume it will be the same at Wal-Mart, but not sure) where I had a test Photo Christmas card printed.
It turned out WONDERFUL. (you can see the sample I had printed on my blog (http://kaytebug2002.blogspot.com).
Here's how I did it.
1) I created a 300 dpi 4x8 photoshop document
2) Designed just like a digi page, but left some "white space" around the edges...see example.
3) Made a copy, with layers compressed as a jpg file.
4) Burned it to CD and took it to Sams.
5) The photo guy uploaded it (You can't send it via net or their handy machines, because there's no 4x8 size to check on regular photos).
6) He printed it, and gave me the sample and the envelope.
Easy peasy.
He also told me they have photo paper and envelopes throughout the year, so you could do birth announcments, etc., through them!
Yahoo!
Anyway, just FYI, because I know someone besides me is procrastinating and hasn't sent out their cards...tee hee.

I just wanted to share that I have not had a good experience with Sams Club ONLINE for printing. And maybe it was only really bad luck. The local in-store printing might be better.
Short story: I ordered my holiday cards about mid-Nov. I got some stranger emailing me early December that she had my order and was wondering what to do with it. WHAT???? I made many calls to SAMS Club customer service to try get the order fixed and got to know customer service people on a first name basis since I called so much. In the end I received twice as many cards as I ordered and they all arrived the morning of Dec 24. The stranger got to keep my first order of holiday cards. And I still had to pay for my order.
Needless to say, I have never ordered from then again.

Yeah, Wal-Mart and Sams are typically the anti-Christ, in my opinion, but I've found that they are better than Walgreens, when it comes to sending things over the web.
Wal-Mart's web service now requires a credit card before you can send the stuff. Sams is still Cash on Delivery (pay when pick up).
I've been pretty pleased with them up to now. I did test prints at all of the local photo places when I did a Sepia photo shoot and it's amazing how different the print quality is when you put pictures side by side.
I guess in all cases, it's buyer beware.
And remember I live close to Bentonville, ARk (headquarters) and I'm convinced the stores around here (you should see the ones in NW Ark) are better than other stores...the farther you get from NW ARk, the worse they are.

Good to know-- even though it is now too late for me to get to a walmart....not that I was the one procrastinating or anything heheh!
But the card was great and I loved all of your LO submissions- lotsa luck that you get accepted.
