I'm right there with you Vicki. I'm feeling a tad overwhelmed myself.

No way will I be shopping on Friday, I don't even like to shop under the best circumstances, never mind all that craziness.

Nina, come on over ;) There's always room for more.

It isn't T-day or decorations that will get to me-- but the constant stae of frantic busy-ness. My neighbor (the one who ordered the big gift baskets from me last week) told me too expect an order from her for 3 more. On the one hand, that is aweomse! On the other---- no more on my plate!

I TOTALLY agree with you there! We don't have a TON of CHristmas decorations, and I actually enjoy putting them up. But I hate that practically EVERY day we have something going on starting the week before Thanksgiving and lasting almost through New Years!

ARGHHHHH! I TOTALLY agree!! I simply cannot fathom how close it is to the "Real" Christmas showdown. I mean, I know my son talks about it everyday but I can always put it off saying - "Well, it hasn't even been Thanksgiving yet" (which is ALSO my birthday!!!! 31 baby, yeah!) But, oh so soon, I won't be able to do that anymore and do I really have to decorate, decorate, buy some more decorations, buy presents, wrap presents, take pictures, make cards, address cards, send cards, go to family gatherings, make food, prepare food, buy food...I mean the list goes on and on. I think maybe I need to learn to de-stress this who Christmas thing in a BIG way :)

Vicki - I hear ya.

This is me too :P we just moved so all of our Christmas junk is spread from here to there and I totally dont want to hunt it all down!! The kids are getting annoyed with my not til after Thanksgiving answer :) Wonder what they would say if I said not til after Christmas LOL

LMAO LELA!

Ya know Tania, i agree... but then I remind myself that Alyx won't be young forever and in a few years, he won't care so much about the decorations. Remind me of this when I'm whining next week!

Vicki, thanks for the reminder of how much this means to the kids. Its true-- and if I can focus on seeing the holidays from *their* eyes, maybe I can get rid of the Scroogieness.

Hey Everyone:
Vicki you will be ok just take a deep breath.

Jane please send me thos happy pills as well.

This year we are trying something new.
Miniature everything. Miniature xmas trees in my DD room the bathroom and living room.
The best part the trees came predecorated from the Fiber MCghee store All I have to do is light them up.:)

I saved a ton of money by things on sale after Xmas for the following year. Bath and body works have a huge sale every Jan b4 their Inventory.

Soaps that are usualy $3.00 are clearance 1.00 etc..
I got all my xmas shopping done for my co-workers last year when the stores had 90 % off sales.
For each of them they are getting a small basket of toileteries that I got for 2.25 and I also purchased gift bags at the $ store last year 3/ for a $1.00. I then printed the gift tags and put everything in a huge garbage bag into the attic.
I only have my DH left. I plan on getting him one of those memory pillows.
My DD wants a trip to DC with the church for Xmas.

Have a great day everyone.

Hey Vicki,

If you only pull out half of your gazillion decorations that might help. Most people including kids won't notice. Just don't forgot the favorite decorations.

My Dh just offered to put up lights on the exterior of the house. We have been talking for 5 years about it but we always decide the peaks are too high. Guess the peaks are shorter this year or the weather is nicer. They are predicting record highs for MN tomorrow -- close to 60 degrees. That will almost feel like summer. I also need to put out the rest of the yard decorations. My theme is Candy. All the candy canes are in place. Need to put up the peppermint candies. And I just bought an 8 ft inflatable gingergread house with gingerbread men on a carousel. I had it set up in the house and it was cute.

I love this time of year, Vicki, but I feel you on going up and down the stairs. That part stinks big time!!

LOL Heidi! I think that is a great idea! The only problem is, and I believe I mentioned this around the first of Oct, we live on Griswald Lane! Everyone decorates and they decorate BIG!

And, Lu, to make matters worse - it's not a real staircase, but one of those fold out ladders - ick!

BUT! Now, that I have finished my BIG O Secret (just waiting on the day I can announce!) I'm definately getting in the mood!
