Blogspot header page 1

Vicki, etc.
How did you change the text header on your blogspot blog to be a picture.
What size, do I need to make my header if I "digi scrap" it?

Can you walk me through adding one to my blog?

Hi Kaylea,

I'll walk you through how I made mine...

Make your image sized roughly 700 w by 250-300 h (in pixels) and 72 dpi. Do just like you would any layout just at roughly this size.

Upload it to a hosting site like photobucket

Then go into your blogspot dashboard (where you write a new post) and go into the 'edit template' tab.

Scroll way down until you come to something that looks like the following:

<h1 id="blog-title">
http&#58;//img267.imageshack.us/img267/2/blahtitle9oz.jpg

</h1>
<p id="description"></p>

</div>

it is there that you will put the direct link to your image - see mine is hosted at imageshack above. I didn't really have a clue what I was doing when I made mine so it is way oversized and I had to limit its size by puttin in the width=700 bit. If you make sure that yours is sized that way to begin with, you can just put in the img src= html code.

If you are having a hard time finding that bit of code above, all of that should be right above where it says



Does this make sense?

Hmmm, all of that is assuming you are using the old version of blogger. If you are using the new version, apparently its much easier. I'll have to upgrade my template and see about that later.

Actually, it makes a lot of sense, because I use web/html stuff for my job at the paper....kicking and screaming mind you.

I'll work on it this week, and may post more questions as I try to upload it.
